Many people jump up and down screaming ringer everytime they see something out of the ordinary but there are a lot of pre 98 hybrids that are perfectly legit... hence the reason there are several perfectly legal coiled series ones out there.

Thats what makes it such a minefield and not as straight forward as people think to spot a definite 'ringer' unfortunately many people leap on a soapbox without really knowing a lot about the subject

Ahh... thank you... I had no idea that the points system was only introduced in 1998. That also makes your previous post make more sense, i thought it was typo when you said it was build in 98, i assumed you meant 68 (i.e. before 1973)

That'd only work if you ringed it to a 2012 I'd, keep checking fleabay there's loads on there. ;)
 
this has left me more confused about registrations and as i was planning to make my series 3 coil sprung with the 2.25 or possibly a 3.9v8 so is this legal leaving it on her current plates or does it have to go Q and also its in poland has not been on the road in over 5 years and im waiting for the law to change to come in line with the rest of the EU so i can register it as polish (at present its bluddy hard to register a RHD vehicle here, you have to go to court to get the judge to deem it unreasonable for you to be without your vehicle)

points aside simple answer is not legal as it falls into the 'radically altered' bracket and needs an sva (as do, by rights, bobtails, shortened chassis etc etc) ask designa if their coil sprung leaf chassis are type approved and if a new chassis from them avoids the need and get in writing, however if you then swop engine type as well youll lose too many points even if all was ok

Not in this country. Major chassis mods have to be SVA checked and all these mods will lose you your reg.


It's actually illegal to change the registration number of a vehicle in this country. Only the DVLA can change a registration number. if anyone else does it without informingn DVLA and paying the relevant fees. Then they have commited a criminal act.

Not really mate the police will do **** all like ebay , the sale is not illegal really what would be is if it was used in the wrong way after the sale kinda like canibis seeds its legal to sell them but not to germinate them we all know this is going on another car be it a rebuild or stolen land rover sending him messages lets him know people are watching maybe he think twice but by the tone of his email i doubt it very much

thanks for the info i will have to look up on polish laws as a reference to modifying truth is i could do what i bluddy liked because they could not tell the difference when i did the insurance for my petrol 109 regestered as having lpg the insurance document given to me stated it was a range rover 2.4 diesel from 1988 i had to present pictures and a LRM to make them change their cock up

There are a lot of people on here who either know people who have had or have had landrovers stolen not just fenders, series and RR and Disco's
anything that aids these scum bags disposing of there ill gotten gains,is treated with the contemp it diserves.I hope you are never in the position of losing your motor,landrover or otherwise.
Please dont shout on here it hurts my eyes:p

You are no more important than the person posting before or after you, so, there is no need to shout.

What you were selling was a route for someone to put new plates on a stolen land rover and to make it zero tax.

I am sure you know, as a long time landy owner, that there are many landys out there which are clearly wrongly ID'd - brand new defenders on zero tax series plates, etc.

The majority of Landy Zone members are strongly against vehicle theft and sadly know people who have had land rovers stolen, therefore anything which looks stolen or would assist someone in hiding a stolen land rover (like ID plates) are not appreciated.

I don't think many people search ebay for items to report, when i discovered your listing I was looking at Land Rovers in general on eBay and came across your item, i didn't specifically set off to look for items to report.
