Is it worth swapping out my worn 2.25 D for a 2.5 D

it will serve well, steady changes, easing clutch in with every change and not using the clutch like an on off switch as many do driving today.
Not like my ex-wife who bought a really tidy series three petrol, and then drove it like a racing car.
 
I always liked the petrol two and a quarter for the series landies. Have you considered a 2.5 petrol engine? Not cheap now and very sought after but a very good engine.
Fuel consumption is just too high for a second vehicle that I would like to use more often and do some long trips
