If someone owns a FL1 as well as a TD5 Disco2 or Defender, or Rover / MG then it really is (I think) a no-brainer.

Will this unit be able to make changes to the CCU or Ipack software? Be handy if it can. ;)
 
If a real T4 can do it, then eventually we could reverse engineer it and do the same. Things like this will be a long, long way down the road though. It is a big challenge just to make a comprehensive test tool to be honest.

Do you have a roadmap with your plans and priorities? I love a good diagnostic and I'll buy in if there is some juicy stuff on the horizon.

If you can make it do all T4 can and maybe more, then you'll have a winner ;)
 
I would like to pick off every Freelander 1 ECU one by one. The speed of this is limited by access to guinea pig vehicles to develop on. For example I am pretty sure that our EDC 1.3.1 protocol will work on an L series Freelander but it has proven hard to find someone to test it.
Also I would like to cover every Discovery 1/2 and Defender ECU upto TD5.
Also I need to finish off Rover 75 and ZT.
I think that this will take some time though. It has taken 18 months to get where we are.
For this reason we will always give free updates to all customers (at least for MG, Rover and Landrover) so that people can buy the tool as it currently is. Otherwise people will always wait for the next feature and we would never sell anything.
I am sorry that this is a bit vague, but I would rather commit the sin of vagueness/lack of commitment than take peoples money and then break a promise which I would consider a worse sin. I need to keep my integrity and also keep stress levels as low as possible.
People who are prepared to visit us in Ruislip will get faster development of course.
 
I haven't implemented matching of ECU to 5AS on the EMS2000 ECU yet. If you can lend me an EMS2000 ECU for a couple of weeks I can almost certainly do it. Almost everything on the MGF is already done. Currently I have a working EPAS implementation but I am just trying to find a car to test it on. The only MGF ECUs not done are the Pektron ECU on late models, Steptronic transmission, and the service light on the LE500.

I've yet to source the S2000 ECU for my project as it's a way off yet. I have considered just getting a matching set off a ZS180. I think that's a straight swap for my 98 VVC F. However the more development that goes into your unit, the more tempting ordering one becomes. I have an I930 but I would like something that does more than that. This is why I went with the IID for my D3 as it did everything including programming non standard software. If you are able to match that level of ability, you'll have a winner ;)
 
No worries. There was an EMS2000 complete with matching Pektron SCU on ebay so I just bought that.

Sorry to hijack, but am I right in thinking that your scan tool will fully read the following ECUs:

02 FL Td4 (2Axxxxxx)
04 FL Td4 (5Axxxxxx)
02 Def 90 Td5

I have a cheap OBDII wifi reader and iOS apps at the moment, but they're clunky to use and rarely give the information I want. The Td5 will not talk to it either.
 
yes it works with all three, and probably the FL1 airbag and ABS ECUs as well as they are >02
The website has screenshots so that you can see exactly what parameters are readable on these ECUs.

Where has this scanner been all my life?! Could this be ported for use with an iPad, preferably via the lightning connector?
 
sorry but no. Developing iphone / ipad apps is expensive and painful from my perspective. Android is much easier and cheaper and so that will come first. What will work right now is any old junk laptop, most reliable is ubuntu ( Lubuntu if the laptop is particularly rubbish ).
 
I actually use Debian, however users are not included in the dialout group by default whereas they seem to be with Ubuntu which means that by default it "just works".
