I found the missing watch and watch strap.:)
Hiding in plain sight.
I was searching for other watch related stuff, (I have boxes and bags of old watches) and suddenly came across the new (second-hand) strap in a plastic bag, like it came from the seller. Not managed to find it before despite searching that box, It had somehow hidden itself behind a flap of cardboard.
So the box got emptied out onto the bed and there among them was the watch.
How the human mind works! I was convinced that I had been more careful with where I had put the watch as it is a decent one, but then the whole box contained watches much like this, only none were separated out or put in a lickle box of its own, which was what I was expecting.
New Year's Resolution, "stop presuming and assuming"!🤣🤣🤣

Welcome back brother, thou shall be washed in sour engine oils before mass. Brother Abbot Nodge68 will give the sermon at 3:22am.

... that I spent several hours in the garage over a hot lathe making stuff. It's just as well because it was freezing cold out there.

All the "custom parts" for pedal-car 2WD units are done. :D
The lathe has started "shrieking" again :( and I measured the temperature at all the drivetrain bearings and they were all about the same (39°C). I cannot actually hear which one/set is complaining, I tried listening with a long screwdriver pressed to each but the noise is everywhere drowned by the belt-noise and none stand out. I put more oil in every button oiler and dashpot (not empty anyway) but it still shrieks.

Maybe the machine oil just isn't getting past some corrosion or build-up (the machine did stand idle for 40 years) and some penetrating oil is required.
I thought you said in your other thread that you didn't have a garage, or is yours like mine, just "full"?

I think its more a case of "full" with workshop and trike stuff. You know the 1s where you can just about walk down the middle ;).
Same as the 1s where if you have a modern car it might just fit through the doors but you couldn't get out of the car:oops:.

But if it was empty he could probably get the mini in:).

B----- hell we have the furs on the bed 😴😴

We moved upstairs this year, which because the stairs are in the lounge/diner and the door at the top is left open, its warmer up there most of the time.
As we do the house insulating as we go it gets warmer and warmer. We seem to use less wood every year. Or is it that global warming thing🤔.

The thing about underfloor heating is, getting into bed its never cold the whole mattress has warmed up, almost like an electric under blanket. Downstairs was turned off/down this summer cos thermostat bust itself. another job on the list. Looking at WIFI thermostats and change 5 at the same time.

We don't have any furs unless you count the cat when he comes up to wake us for his breakfast:oops:.
