...that for some weeks a heated argument debate has raged at castle Clarke about the existence of "purple patches" on lighter skin tones (faces etc.) on the TV images. My wife swears they are not there and that I am going crazy. I have "paused the programme" and got her to sit in my seat while i point out the "purple area" with my finger. Nope! She says it isn't there and I am bonkers. But... I do a google search and get..

as an example. Apparently it is the backlights failing from "white-light" to "Purple". Can be repaired on some TV's but can be very expensive in labour costs. So maybe it is new-TV time, or just live with it for a while (as I have been doing). Allegedly once it starts it only gets worse. :(

I got my new glasses today, they are very good TBH. Should be at that horrendous price!!!
Also got the optician folks to write my scrip in a legible hand because I could not read what they had written which sort of precludes me from shopping online for glasses (I wonder why they write it so badly?).
I did get an agreement that my expensive silhouette frames (not frames but just bridge & ear bits) from an earlier pair can be reused on another new pair of lenses, so that will save me a bit and I will have 2 pairs and one will be polarised for driving.

Recently decided that, though my eyes are still road legal, i wasn't happy with their performance. After the eye test, they asked what frames i liked and i went straight to the silhouettes.

And walked briskly away when they told me the price. Too steep for a first pair for me, but they are extremely nice.
