When I was an ickle-boy and we went back to live with my Nan after me Mum was gone she used to give us this stuff called Liquifruta it was really horrible. She also used to stand us in front of the fire and rub us with camphorated oil.

If things were really bad we got rubbed down with White Horse Liniment.
Happy days! :D
Love the smells of all that old fashioned stuff!
Things peeps used to do to cure themselves before the National Health system came into being. Home made remedies passed on from generation to generation. and practices like going and standing near the tar barrel when road-menders were in the district, if you had a cold or a cough.
Onion poultice, salt water gargle, raw garlic and one I swear by, hot toddy with lemon and honey.
Even docs approve of quite a lot of them.

Funniest one I have heard of is slices of onion in your socks on the soles of your feet. I mean how on earth can you do that? :D

Oh dear.:(:(:(
I lost 8mm off the end of my left index to a plunge saw a while back. And it was slowing down in mid air when it happened, no power to it at the time. I'd decided I couldn't make the cut I wanted to make with it set up the way I had done so, so I was lifting it away from the work. The left hand side of the base plate is a damn sight narrower than a normal circular saw, as I discovered.

Hope you lost a lot less than I did.

Serious sympathies, mate!. ;)
Just a ickle chunk removed, will be right as rain.. Ta

well...
Spent a while today trying again, unsuccessfully again, to get into my Barclays accounts.
This being cos I am rather late in moving dosh around before tomorrow's budget.
Ended up on the phone to some blokey who agreed that the wimmins who was supposed to send me two missives, sent the one and not the other, without which I couldn't even log on.
So once it was obvious that the blokey couldn't really help me very quickly I decided to drive to ringwood, our nearest, and part time, branch tomoz a.m. to empty the account.
What a state of affairs.
Blokey said "If you have the app...." etc etc. Stick that my friend. Online at home on a pooter whose batt isn't going to fail in the middle of a transaction, that is not going to get lost or stolen from my pocket or my car is the way I wanted to go.
So be it.
Anyway he is going to report it as a complaint, etc. They will be losing a not incosiderable amount of dosh from their coffers as a result of their incompetence.

Grr.
Rant over!
The app will be passwurd protected.

Dentist £26.80 so not too bad, still waitin, never get done on time 🙂

Went to Ringwood.
Barclays turned out to be a room in the library, a table, a blokey and a laptop.
Hmm!
Anyway luckily I had brought all the right stuff and he did the biz.
It should be emptied and closed sometime today and the money transferred to where I want it.
But he wouldn't have been able to have given me a bankers draft. Ho no! "We is paperless, better for the planet (and we don't have a printer)" For flip's sake!
So got back, checked on W and gave her a lempsip wiv honey in, then pootled back out to get her some Merocets or Merocaine and fill up the Disco. "Merocets? Never heard of them." quoth the ladies in the chemists. So they check online and apparently they are discontinued, or antiques or summat, so the best throat lozenges you could buy are now no more! So I got her some others with lidocaine in, we'll have to see how they go.
Sainsbury's petrol station was busy but not real queuing, i.e. not back out to the dual carriageway.
Shoved 100 sovs wuth in.
Hadn't taken the Pluriel as when I started it it was making a funny noise from... you guessed it... the timing belt area.

Rude words spoken. It sounded OK when I started it after readjusting the tensioner tother day.
Hmmph.:(
So when I got back I started it up again and the sound had gone. :stars::stars::stars::stars:
So I got my stethoscope out and had a wee listen all around the timing belt case and sho nuff there is a wee noise coming from inside it, not even regular, a faint wuff, wuff noise, quiet, not like a dog barking. Methinks it might be the water pump. Just my luck having not changed it as you all know. Maybe having a properly tensioned belt is now putting a bit more pressure on the bearing surfaces in it.
So I'll take it out and fill it up, have a few, strong words with it and see if it is any wuss when I get back.
Hey ho!
At least it isn't raining, just high pressure gloom.
Have a good day folks!
:):):)
