Its thundering n lightnin (very very frightnin) but I ain't hiding behind the sofa.
Here we ave to disconnect ze Livebox every tam zat zere iz zee lightnings and ze funder in case it fruook ze box.You can fit a gas discharge fuse that will blow and create an air gap. I just unplug it to be fair, it is less of a worry for me. If we are going out I disconnect if the weather looks rubbish.

But the weather can change pretty quickly. Best to unplug on departure every time I would think.
A local friend of mine had a lightning strike on his house, came down the TV aerial and the discharge of the vapourising cable etc. cracked the house top to bottom.
Me too but W hides under the blankets!
Mind we had a tornado in our village while we were away, missed our place but took the roofs off two houses at the bottom of the neighbours' land and brought a chimney stack down behind our friends place. Not funny!
