do you mean this?Yeah you know the shiney bit
J
We had a slab made by filling in a big space with Readymix equivalent here in France about 3 years ago, the bloke swung this gurt big pipe up and right over the house so 5 metres plus quite a bit high, to drop it totally the other side.Just foundations, if it had been any serious hard work I would have been out walking the dogs-)
Yeah this is the whold feckin business, ones with dimples come off (and sometimes even fall off), the locking nuts, ones with bumps are there only to hold the spare on and plain ones hold water and allow the feckin proper nut underneath to rust which makes the whole shooting match swell up so the wheel wrench or even the right size socket won't go on unless you hammer it on.do you mean this?
no way that silver bit is coming off
Almost worth recommending every one takes all theirs off once in a while and soaks them in a thick oil while wiggling the stainless cover just to get some under the cover to stop the rust forming, or Waxoyl I spose! The ones on mine have zero chance of coming off without a cutting disc.
They are nicely scratched from the socket though
have a looksee down the back of the sofaToday’s a total write off, lost mi mojo

Ah, Is that what they are called??????we used to have these things called hub caps before alloy wheels came along.. great for folks who didnt want to see their nuts on display

This is the whole reason for my annoyance and split socket.
Ministry of Cr@p Design again.
Yes they look purdy, well quite purdy, but down the line they are a pain!!!!!
Which is why once I get a new one, or three, I'll cut the shiny bit off and investigate what is underneath, to see if there is a better solution.
Bit tempted to drill a hole or two in the top and try and find some acid to soak em in to destroy the rust, after having coated the threads with a load of grease, obvs!
Only a tight Yorkshire git like me could be bovvad!
This delivery was handballing with a wheelbarrow, it’s a kitchen extension with a wet room, we live with two people who are learning disabled and the shower in the bath arrangement is getting a bit much for them….us as well, to be honest so we are ‘future proofing’ things. We had a slab made by filling in a big space with Readymix equivalent here in France about 3 years ago, the bloke swung this gurt big pipe up and right over the house so 5 metres plus quite a bit high, to drop it totally the other side.
I was well impressed!
Fun was using up the excess, cos you can't leave em with any!
So a bit went round the base for the washing line carousel thing, (planned) and the rest we just had to "lose"!
Twas funny to see the soft ball thing shoot out the end at the finish of it all!
Lorry only just got through the gate!
Beats the absolute cr@p out of mixing it all by hand or even in a mixer!
So how long's you wall gonna be then?

Whatever way you look at it they need to come off cos they is a PITA.

Bugger, the concretes arrived, not supposed to be here until three and it’s hoyin it down.
its OK i dont put my waste in a suitcase and take it on holiday with me"That’s a particular concern as the UK produces more electronic waste per person than anywhere in the world apart from Norway. At 23.9kg a year per person, that’s more than the weight of a suitcase you’d typically be allowed to take with you onto a plane."
