yes prior to the 300 the engine and short box sat a couple of inches further back ,v8 was pushed forward this enabled the longer box and meant it still sat further forward ,you need to swap more parts but they are all std lr parts (even quite a few disco parts)not cut and shut etc to fit an engine were it wasnt
Like fitting a 5 speed Sierra box to the back of a Cortina Pinto engine. I built a kit with a four speed in it, had a shortened prop made up, as you usually have to do with any 30s style kit, then someone flogged me a 5 speed Sierra box, it bolted on exactly the same, and then I took the mounting plate, turned it round and "Voila" in it went. i didn't even need to redo the prop.
Love it when that happens. :D:D:D

The mass panic outside Cherry Tree Primary School this afternoon over the escaped leopard, that was hit & killed by a car, turned out to be Tracy's dressing gown that she dropped while doing the 3pm school run in her pyjamas :D:D

But I will never buy a jeep the only one I respect is the old grand wagoner, but even then a range rover of the period is superior

Had a Willys MB for about a week, then sold it for twice the price I paid for it ... just as well, hubby got a speeding ticket in Pall Mall early one morning ...
