Fortunately it's quite hard to get done for speeding in a land rover as they start shaking to bits at 30 mph:p

Moved on how? Land Rovers breakdown far more now than they ever did....
Land Rovers only came about cos some British oik ripped off a Jeep
Land rover was the first car to drive from London to Singapore, the first to cross the berring straight, used by Ranulph Fiennes on his transglobal expedition, David Attenborough has used them for years in fact for a while the first car most of the world saw was a Land rover

I'm sorry I wasn't aware of your experience and it wasn't my intention to offend u. I only said it because that's just my philosophy towards decisions but I deeply respect your input
Experience is a great teacher, the internet, is no substitute.
I'd rather employ a plumber that three of my friends say is good and value for money, than one with good reviews on tinternet.
We've just had 3 quotes to have our fascias and soffits replaced. The most expensive came in at twice the price of the cheapest. £12k FFS!
A few lines on an email, whereas the others all came in with great detail.
An example of what quotes can actually mean.
So often we have found that companies quote not on the job but on what they think the punter would be willing to pay. They see a big house and a lot of cars and bump the price up.
If you ring up for a quote for car insurance, the first thing they say is "What have you been quoted so far?" If you say a sum, they will then quote at just a bit below that. So just tell them all "This is the first quote I am looking at". Then when they quote you say "Thanks very much, I'll bear that in mind when talk to other companies".
When i last did that, they then revised their quote massively down and asked me what it would take to stay with them and not go looking at other quotes. !! so I insured a V8 Disco 1 for £188 fully comp. With Lancaster.
But probably the very best deal you will be able to get will be one of those where you have to have an electric box in the car to monitor your driving.
I was a sixth-form form teacher for years so I am very aware of what insurance costs for youngsters!
You could of course get a relation to buy the car and insure it in their name, with you as a named driver but technically you should not be then driving it more than them!
