TLScontact seems to be moving more towards giving us the refund we deserve.
But they have asked us for the most crazy info:
  • Registered email address
  • Full name
  • Passport number
  • Application reference number
  • Payment reference number that starts with "visa-fr-gbLON2fr-XXXXXXXXXX".
  • The center you were applying for.
  • The date of the appointment.
  • Date of payment.
  • Amount to be refunded.
  • The bank details: [account number, sort code, first and last name on bank account]) and screenshot of TLS confirmation payment email and screenshot of the receipt.
The latter is pure phishing as they don't need that AT ALL.
In fact they do not need any of this as they took the money from us quick enough. They have enough info on their records to be able to refund us. Via the credit card we paid with. So sickening.

I really do wonder if the the French Embassy knows how awkward this lot are being to people who want to enter their country legally and benefit from their properties. :(:(:(

Do you know if their system provides the option of a refund. It may simply be the case it doesn't have the ability for them to do so. Like calling up your record and clicking 'refund payment'. Hence asking for the payment info so they can make a manual refund against the origional card.

If you look at a shop receipt you only see the last 4 digits of the card number. The rest is hidden and not accessable to staff. When they have the option of auto refunding they scan the card again to confirm detail/identity of the card. Computer has the origional info for comparison. Easy to do when they have a 'refund payment' option to click on.
