Did some diy in the utility room yessdi. A fiddly job, made even fiddlier by having to accomodate the fact that where the floor previously had tiles, up to where the cupboards were under the sink and work top, things have had to be altered to accomodate the tumble drier, (a thing we never had before) and I am having to think out of the box to hide the missing tiles, which I cannot get any more of. They don't even make em the same size any more never mind the same colours.

But it did take my mind of the flipping Visa thing.
Have a good day all and @DanClarke, if you are getting frustrated with the Boxford, don't go too near your new Mini with a hammer in your hand. "accidents" can happen!

(I did once see a clip of film about a watchmaker reassembling a tiny movement for a women's watch. He said that sometimes he got so "wound up" doing it, that once he had finished he fished a scrap movement out of his rubbish box, put it on the little anvil and beat the poop out of it with a hammer! I think we all feel like that sometimes!)

Conversation with TLScontact had some minor satisfaction but other things are still up in the air. At least I have been told I will get a refund.
I was told to try various things when, still on the phone to her, we (W and I) proved to her that the website wasn't working.
I said I thought she ought to play the conversation we had just had back to her techy team. And that I wanted them to delete any references or data relating to my previous accounts and this account. This so that I can open a new account with a clean sheet and not get knocked back with constant messages on the screen saying "This email is already in use" when if it is it cannot be used and constant, "This email address and/or password is not recognised".

As usual the system has been set up with insufficient testing.
I was also told not to set up an accoubnt with a tablet. Plus we had to go a whole rigmarole of deleting all History, emptying all caches and disabling auto refresh. As I said to her, this isn't reasonable, I can log on successfully to three accounts with different banks without all this fuss.

In the end she said "Someone will get back to you within 30 minutes.
That was 50 minutes ago.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hi folks sorry about quietness. Been a bit busy and maybe looking at redundancy at my place. Been in a funk. I wanted a new job but maybe not this soon. Oh well off to sunnier fields maybe sooner. Hope everyone is ok.
Very sorry to hear this.
Moving jobs, changing career when you want to is one thing.
Being pushed into by circs beyond your control is another.:(:(:(
The very, very best of luck, whatever happens. 🤞🤞🤞

so...
Just asked "Google" "Can you dismantle a Plumbsure non-demountable pushfit fitting.?"
As I have an isolating valve with two on.

Turns out "no you can't".

Aw, shame!

Hain't fitted it yet, prolly won't now.
The things I find in my "stores".

You cannot believe the temptation I am now feeling to try it on a bit of pipe.

I'm like a kid who sees a sign "wet paint - do not touch!"🤣🤣🤣

Clue in the name there Stan.
Though I did look it up on Tratterpaedia for you, it says:
'Wif a hammer, extreme prejudice. Beware Stanage.'

No idea where the second sentence came from.

Had this dropped on me Autumn 23. I'd been waiting for the shoe to drop to be honest, old square peg in a shiny BS new hole, but it wasn't nice all the same. Now doing something completely different, heavy work but gratifying. Keep an open mind, you never know. All the best.

Been there in 2009 with redundancy during the Brown era. Sadly the recession was in full force then. I was sending CVs to all distribution companies near me for warehouse jobs. Not a bean available. A year later on the Dole, Mam became more limited with disability and I became her carer eventually homecarer. Something will crop up for you or better to think outside the box. At least you can have a moan on here.
