It'll be interesting when Dan tells us what work he discovers his Mini has had done.
I am wondering if he will find that it is impractical as it is and maybe better to redo it back to some form of "standard", i.e as in a MG Metro set up. That would be plenty powerful enough but drink less juice unless he only potters around in it. ;)
Given that it "Looks" beautiful on the outside and has had a ton of work done to get it that way, it's probably a "keeper".
But also given that it is alleged to have been messed with and rolling roaded @83.9BHP and that was before the cylinder head cracked and was replaced it may be "over-stressed" in some areas.
It is a 1275 block and I think it is a A+ because there is no dipstick tube and the alternator mounting points are like an A+. Although it was promoted as having a "stage 2 head and a lumpy cam" these things mean nothing much to me. I can imagine what they mean (bigger valves, gas-flowed, cam profile with more lift/different port open/close sequences.
I think my immediate goal is to understand what it has on it and to ensure it isn't going to crack another head or melt any pistons. A "Nippy" and fun head-turner is all I would like it to be.
Race/track days...Errr... no thanks. Driving up through ULEZ land while waving 2-fingers at Mr. Khan's cameras when I visit my sister in Beckenham would be nice though. Paying no VED is nice too. :D

I am sure you will be happier once you have understood exactly what you have and if you don't know what you have then changed things for good tried and tested components. I expect what you have got should be in the paperwork that you got with it, if you got that.
A "lumpy" cam will make it tiring and uneconomical to drive, the A+ block is a good thing as it is stronger.
You'll make your own mind up re the head and cam etc, I'd just ensure all exhaust valve seats have lead free inserts but I'd be very surprised if that hasn't been already done.
Looking forward to following all this.;):)

Has anyone on ere setup power of attorney? Finking of doing it.

We got Mum to do it for money, but being a retired doctor she wasn't keen on doing one for health.

As it happens it's working quite well, the medics appreciate that we're very involved and understand the options and so listen and give weight to what we say.
