Been an extremely busy few days.
Son's marriage is OK, phew!
But kids education is all over the place, for a whole host of reasons.
So granddottir will be in a state boarding school, (in the UK) coming to us for 1/2 term. From then on Lord knows, she might have to do similar with dottir especially when we aren't here.
Grandson wants to get into Paris-Dauphine which is a cross between a uni and a "Grande Ecole", good choice if he can get in. But his physics and chemistry teacher is a dolt so he is having to have private tuition in order to raise his average to the point where he can apply. Otherwise he has applied to 5 UK unis amongst which LSE, but madly he seems to have to have GCSE Maths and English by some sort of law, so he may well have to take them somehow. No problem passing them just the actual exam thing.
Then son and dottir in law not sure where they want to live, what to do about extending residence permits, or do they go back to Japan, and would we allow him to park his campervan on our land during the winter?
Whole shed load of stuff to be considered. All first world problems.
Meanwhile I have to start on getting new visas, book ferry crossings (having arranged when and where to stay with friends on the journey without offending any of them), plus the Disco gearbox has started playing up, which is annoying to put it mildly.
So the New Year has started with a bang of sorts.
Hope your back to work, if you are doing so, is going OK, all?!
As for you retirees, well....... Enjoy the calm!!!
Just like we are....
