I got my RAC renewal quote this morning. 306 sovs . They said its gone up slightly because blah blah blah. Slightly = 72%.
I always ring them up before renewing, and get a better deal. But - I just got a like for like quote from the AA, 135 sovs. I think I'll be going with them. I've been with the RAC for 50 years. I don't think I'll be with the AA that long, but who knows? 😂
Spoke to a nice chap at the RAC this morning. Got my renewal for 150 sovs. Happy with that :D

Having a good day so far. Insurance renewal quote for house and contents landed on the doormat, 30 sovs less than last year. Just waiting for the tratter insurance renewal, same provider as the house insurance. Lets wait and see if my good fortune changes ----

The new loft ladder is in. My goodness what a mess they made. :(
They didn't put any floor protection down and smashed out lath & plaster and trod it in everywhere. :(
We have had a right mess to clean up.
But the thing is in and it is an improvement (but much steeper than the old ladder (which surprises me).
The access hatch is >1.5 times longer so you don't smash your back into the hole as you ascend/descend at least. :)
I could probably have done a better job of it myself back in the day, but I'm a bit past it now. :D

There really is no need to make such a mess, that really gets my back up. Got pics of your new set up I may look at doing this
in me garage. Ive got a metal set of stairs but looking at them they are quite bulky & they take up a permeant space.

Morning All. :D
Cool & Damp (and that's just me) weather's about the same. :)
Woken up with gout in the right Big toe (1st joint) very painful walking on it indeed. :(
Chippies are here to remake a newer/bigger loft hatch & and a new drop down ladder.
Have a Marvelous Monday. :D
Massive sympathy for the gout. Get on top of it as soon as possible. I left it rather late!

It’s a ring but each socket is a spur. But they normally run it horizontally around the room just below the ceiling with junction boxes , not in our house.
But (the bit I hate) neutral and earth are the same, some don’t even run earths to outlets.
There just isn’t room in the socket boxes for a full ring, well there is (I did it to start with) but it’s so tight and hard I gave up.

Today was basically 2 outlets on single wires to 1 fuse. Immersion to its own, lights on a ring as we have UK light roses we brought over (yep they don’t have them here)

As we are isolated and run on solar I installed a ground mat for the earth, to mutch stone for a earth steak all external metal is grounded for lightning hits as we have copper gutters
