I am abashed to admit that the expensive(?) dashcam I bought myself (from her) for Xmas & B'day still isn't fitted. :(
I want to fit it soon and on looking at the destructions it says hide it mostly behind your rear-view mirror so it does not obstruct your view of the road ahead. This is complicated by the rear-view/cabin-view camera on the RH side of the unit.
putting it mostly behind the mirror means you can't get at it easily, but I see why they suggest that.
Where'd y'all fit yours?
Make sure it’s in the windscreen wiper area.
Higher up the better so everything can be caught.

Behind the rear view mirror !!! Also have a rear view cam

Just to say that the "brocante" was much as expected.
Outdoor antique shops all lined up on stalls, so what we'd call an antique fair.
Some very funny signs, e.g. on one stall cases full of stuff, each one with the sign "Prices non negotiable. Information after purchase."
WhaaaaaaTTT?? "Er yeah, now you've paid €90 for that bit of tat, it's bruked underneath!"
And a piece of R Lalique, nowt special in itself, just a little bowl, surrounded by signs saying "Fragile" "Don't touch"
And interesting convos overheard.
W likes silk scarves, Hermes, etc you know the things.
She saw one in a box €125. Steps back in amazement.:(
On the other side of the square, same thing again in a box, (the wimmins flogging it to someone else,) "€250".
Seriously?
At least we had a good laugh. And a nice drink.
(W bought 2 Elton John Cds for €15. Not even really tempted by anything else.)

I’d go somewhere towards the passenger side, and try to stay in the sweep of the wipers… to give a clear view

Just to the left of the mirror. Then point it so the bonnet is center of the pic.

We escaped the rain today and it wasn't a bad day at all.
I wasted some time in the workshop of doom and played with my toys. :)
Lovely roast dinner with fillet steaks off the BBQ.
I've been doing some focused exercise on the gammy knee and it seems to be responding (which seems good) but it is too early yet to declare any victory over age and decrepitude. :)

He did say that if they went any deeper, to where they knew there was water also, what they had just found could simply end up flowing into the source or water table below it.
If I am reading this correctly then the upper water would just go down to a lower level leaving the top layer empty! To get water they would then have to drill further down to get to the water supply and ............ he will end up with a much larger bill for a deeper drilling. (Bin there got the T-shirt).

Plus I would think at only 5mt you would have surface contamination . Like flukes and bacteria which can be transmitted to vegetables? ?

Sort of.
I don't think anyone knows how strong the top layer of water is, it is probably an underground stream of which there are a lot round here. They found 5 on our land when digging out for the pool, and there is a very persisitent one that tries to fill our parking area in front of the house during the winter. I could go on about others.
It must be to do with the geology of the area. But the lower one would be the "water table" if that makes any sense, or at least I assume that is what is meant and that is the thing we all have to avoid when installing septic tanks with outfalls.
Anyway, he is going for the first one they came to and if water is there now, at the height of summer it should be a pretty persistent one.

He didn't mention that so I suppose the people doing the boring didn't cos he wouldn't want that. But to get that he would need to be getting run off from farmland wouldn't he?
Of which there is very little. In fact I cannot think of any sheep in the area now, that jhas all died out, deffo no cattle or pigs, most is for hay or forestry.
But obvs I am no expert.

I have just started reading this
to see how deep in the ground they go, only to find that flukes find a host snail (!) etc etc. so they don't penetrate the ground at all!
I'll carry on seeing what elses may be a problem.

Bacteria apparently live for millenia very deep undergound and can eat rocks!

And according to this 5 metres is right on the edge of contamination levels, (well, in other parts of the world) but then he isn't going to be trying to drink it.

...and incidentally there are people round hear who drink nothing but spring water, untested. one couple we know are still alive well into their 80s. If you do want to go official with your spring water, if you have you private one that is, (said mush drives into the mountains to find his and bottle it) then the charge for checking/testing is about as much as it would cost you to be on the mains! They ain't stoopid!

That really doesn't sound like fun,
Best wishes with getting it sorted.
(Neighbour just told me that "they" have found water at 5 metres so he will be having a well soon.)

its not fun but its something we have to cope with. Wasn't like this when we first got here.
The really annoying bit is driving into town and the car washes going full blast, we don't get our water that route but the plans have "apparently" been on the table for a few years:rolleyes:.
