How much do we think is an acceptable amount to pay for a deposit for a motor, reason is I aint seen it in only vids n pics
& its owned by a landy parts company being sold as a private sale, they have asked for a 1000 sovs & they will remove it from
sale (via bank transfer) im not keen on the amount as I was going to pay 200 quid & get it collected & pay when my driver
goes to collect it & makes sure the motor is there. Now if anyone is going near Rugby that would be handy 🤣 🤣
I was thinking of asking for there id or do a paypal & just pay the fees to cover my ass.
Main dealers ask fer 500 sovs normally to reserve a car. Does yer need someone to go and see it first?

He's just had his first walnut. Struggled to pick it up. Gorrit in his mouth enuff to carry then dropped it when moving oft. A few more goes and he were bouncing away. Went under me bush. Eye listerned at the window. Could hear him cracking it open. He must have to bite the shell still after opening it as he was wurking onnit fer some time. Took a while before he came back.

Finding out if he likes 'em or not ...

Have yer fort about changing them all if yer gorra duff batch.
The duff batch was in the middle of other good batches. Thank God or yes we'd be having to retile the whole roof at which point I would consider a court action for "Vice caché". But no, the jobs done now :banana::banana:and we have a few new tiles left over, about 7 out of the 150 we got. Total cost €405 plus labour from me and C of about 9 hours each. (We got a heck of a lot quicker as we went!)
Now we "just" have to dispose of the duff ones.

Imagine the amount I have needed to clear out 9 large bookcases following the death of my husband four years ago - and I still haven't finished! It has become obvious that I just can't do the physical work involved in this task like I used to do. :(
I really sympathise. I had to do exactly the same when my dad died. He was a voracious reader. Fortunately I was younger then and had W to help. I kept what I thought I'd read one day and then tried to sell the rest. Not easy at all but did in the end manage to shift a lot.
But my task pales into insignificance with your 9 large bookcases. :(

Sounds steep. Normally 10% or so on a private sale to take off market. I would be wary if it were me!
Sounds like they want their ‘trade deal’ cake and eat it.

Ask them to send you an invoice for the deposit - then pay that with a credit card. Least then you have some recourse if it goes pear-shaped.
110% agreed here. But even still £200 deposit should be enough these days, I get it if you're buying some high end luxury car and holding it for two weeks.. but yeah.

Check the business out, ask for a invoice for the deposit (and period of the hold), check it matches the business, pay by CREDIT card (section 75 protection). Never trust anyone with money, always protect yourself first.

Not surprised, it often take me a while to get all the bits of a walnut out of its shell!🤣🤣

I sent them a msg saying 1000 was too much without seeing it, ive asked for id which they have sent through whatsapp
& happy to do a walk round vid call. Ive also asked for a copy of the v5.
They have already send pics of all round underneath on a ramp ect & a walk round vid.
Dont think is a scam but people will go to great lengths to get free money. It would be ideal if someone went to see it
although its a big ask. The transport costs are 400 sovs to get it delivered here which is decent, I use the same chap
all the time. :)

The fact that it is a trade that is trying to make it a private sale to me totally stinks, so I'd steer well clear. Summat dodgy at the cross roads. Especially demanding that much up front.
:mad::mad::mad:

They are not a car dealer but run a parts & landy repair business the disco was owned by one of the workers & sold it
but the chap didnt look after it very well, they've somehow ended up with it back. Just thought the amount was a bit
cheeky or are they weeding out the time wasters.

Big hugs, Dips. Me dad died ten years ago: a week or so ago I found a copy of the eulogy I wrote for the church service. Bust me in half for a bit.
