Been tied up moving some books over the weekend. Its amazing how many boxes are needed to clear one set of bookshelves, bit like when digging a hole - how the hell did all that earth fit in there?
Imagine the amount I have needed to clear out 9 large bookcases following the death of my husband four years ago - and I still haven't finished! It has become obvious that I just can't do the physical work involved in this task like I used to do. :(

Got a parcel on way but seems a bit slow. Had a look at the tracking on Royal Mail website and it says 'we're expecting the parcel from the sender'. That was on the 15th...

Unsure whats going on there, possibly booked then not posted. ?? I dont think you can depend on any if them.
We had a right moo of a woman in our local post office. Every time you went in no matter what it was there was always
a problem totally unhelpful to say the least. I once sold a complete sound system with in car tv ect. I sent the misses to
post it & it was over 500 sovs so told her get every tracking recorded postage you can get plus insurance, I came home
& asked her where the receipt was oh flip sake the bint who works in the PO sent it first class   Yup it went missing
& it went to Blackpool. I nearly drove there she contacted the PO in Belfast head office & they looked into it & I got a full
refund from the PO but could have done without the hassle. lol

Then either the houses are very spaced out or the street lamps are very close together. And yes it IS this time!
:stars: :stars: :stars:

Yer the undelivered parcels came from the main depo & they sent over 100 so it wasnt the local drivers fault at all.

All the houses are spaced out most are detached but with so much greenery you cant see them.

How much do we think is an acceptable amount to pay for a deposit for a motor, reason is I aint seen it in only vids n pics
& its owned by a landy parts company being sold as a private sale, they have asked for a 1000 sovs & they will remove it from
sale (via bank transfer) im not keen on the amount as I was going to pay 200 quid & get it collected & pay when my driver
goes to collect it & makes sure the motor is there. Now if anyone is going near Rugby that would be handy 🤣 🤣
I was thinking of asking for there id or do a paypal & just pay the fees to cover my ass.

I suppose it depends on the price of the vehicle, but I would say £500 was more than enough to show good faith
:)

Its not big mental money its a Disco 1 lol id understand if it was a 20/30k motor thought 1k was a bit cheeky tbh.
The text was heres the bank details....minimum 1000 deposit & I'll remove it from sale. I thought pizz off then lol.

I get the news from W usually, but she didn't get up until C and I had finished changing all the new tiles I had left and marking up the dodgy ones so I can get some more, then clearing up.
So he arrived at 6h15 and we'd finished by 9h30.
I, then having read about it on here, got told it was only for those who weren't on some sort of benefit.
I then made a comment on Nexrdoor where everyone is bellyaching about the Labour govt and calling them all sorts of names.
My comment was that I was always a bit embarrassed at getting it as we aren't short of dosh. So I kinda feel it is fair that only those who really need it get it.
Doubtless there are now a thousand wax dolls with my name on them having pins stuck in them! 🤣🤣🤣

Your probably getting on there wick 🤣 🤣

I'm going to check it again but something's amiss, either they have not received it or not picked it up, unless the tracking is fouled up. That has happened before.

That post office woman sounds a nightmare. I had a similar situation once with a parcel which went missing although I posted it myself. Recipient said they didn't receive it, I opened a case and Parcelforce said it was delivered. Problem is destination was New Zealand... Wasn't insured as not worth a lot, I told buyer they could have a refund for the contents but not the postage.

A grand as a deposit sounds a bit steep. If it was 20k/30k maybe as you say, but not for something a lot cheaper.

Why have you sorn'd it?

He's not sorned it his tax is free.
Indeed

Funny you both should say that - when I took the papers to the nice lady in the post office to change the status to 'Historic', which has to be done when physically taxing it, I said I might SORN it later while carrying out work. She said why bother when the tax is free? So I've been renewing it ever since.

Sounds steep. Normally 10% or so on a private sale to take off market. I would be wary if it were me!
Sounds like they want their ‘trade deal’ cake and eat it.

Ask them to send you an invoice for the deposit - then pay that with a credit card. Least then you have some recourse if it goes pear-shaped.
