... I did have a little trike ride but I abandoned it because I was concerned about a permanently rubbing brake pad on the NSF disc. :(
Came home and put new pads in, then off to the son's because it's the G-daughter's birthday tomorrow, and she will not be there but with that witch he married. :(
Weather's supposed to be rubbish for the rest of the week. :(

When I was a lad probably about 10ish, me & my brother were fighting over a set of skis so my dad gave us 1 ski & a pole
each when he came to check on us we were flying down the hill on one ski & we had set up a slalom course with the poles
& sticks. 🤣 🤣

That really made me laugh as I bet ur dad was grumbling under his breath how smart both of u were

Talking of hills, my brothers and I would go down a steep hill just outside swanage on cardboard , awesome fun as it had a ditch at the bottom where u could take off

Years ago was on holiday and us 3 x brothers found a disused airport , we snuck into the tower and found a poster of a lady in a wetsuit

When we got back to the caravan for some reason my brother and I started pulling on each end to see who was going to keep it , unbeknown to us it had a metal edge as I pulled it it went through my brothers fingers and blood sprayed up the caravan wall

After him getting stitches , my dad had to paint the wall to cover the blood up

us 3 x loved each other but blimey we got up to mischief and some injuries along the way , lol

..that I saw my brother in law today for the first time in months (the really great BIL that is an MOT tester and sorts all our cars out, not the little shyster BIL that is always in his Mother's purse). For a 77 year old he looked remarkably fresh-faced and really healthy.

I offered him a drink (as we always do) and to my surprise he said "No thanks, I have given up alcohol, I just decided that like smoking it is something I don't want to do any more". Now I have to say that he looks very well.

Which brings me to me.
I told y'all that my last cholesterol blood test went awry because my Triglycerides were too high (4.7) and that meant they could not get a measure of LDL/HDL. But as the total cholesterol was 8.5 overall we can conclude that at worst the HDL was 0 (unlikely) and the LDL was 3.8 (also unlikely). So what pushes your TG up so high? I know the answer.... Alcohol.

So as I can't go on like that I have undertake a change of my M.O. Mon-Thurs is alcohol free and drinking is only Friday Night till Monday; and I have cut back on the volume on these days too. I did this last week without any cheating and I am doing it this week too (and hopefully from hereon in).

What I have discovered ( after speaking to my eldest son) is alcohol-free Gin. 0% alcohol and just the gin flavours, which is quite refreshing with tonic. What I have also found is that after 4 straight "clean & sober" days the Alcohol days are just not as appealing and the urge to gorge on booze is greatly diminished. I can't see me taking the pledge, but there's hope for this old dog yet! :)

Switched tele on today and all is well, been on a couple of hours now so fingers crossed 🤔 :)
I had one like that; a top of the line Toshiba. I found a place that did a fixed-price "no-fix/no-fee" repair service and they fixed it in 1 week. The technician that worked on it said it took him about 30 minutes to isolate and to fix the problem.

If it is a quality brand and not a cheapo then putting it in for fault-finding and repair is likely to be cheaper than buying a new one. Good Luck!

Good for you.

I wish I could manage this. But if I did W would have to do it with me and I know there is no chance of that happening!

I did dry January a couple of years back just to see how it went. OK I didn't have any blood tests, but apart from that I felt no benefits at all.

I am pleased you find alcohol free gin so good. Dunno if we could get that over here, but I'll try it if I can find any. My massive problem is that I simply like the taste of alcoholic drinks. I never get drunk any more, not even silly. But i find soft stuff frankly boring.

Anyway keep it up and let us know how your reads change!
👍👍👍👍

....that I have found a whole nest of YouTubes on 2 stroke carbs on garden machinery.
One bloke stripped one down pretty completely and I now almost understand how they work. He used hand vacuum and pressure pumps to test things and mended one by using nail varnish to seat a jet properly.
I still haven't given up on fixing mine.

All I need to do now is to find out how to strip a chainsaw down to the components: oil tank to the oil outlet to the chain and bar.

Spent the morning studying legal documents to do with lending a person a patch of your land for grazing. Quite fun finding the translations for some of the legal terms. End result is, it all looks doable.
Sleep well folks.
Shops back open again tomoz so back to the fencing and roof mending! If it don't rain, which it should.
