Thanks Dan.

As much as both Mum & Dad have only good things to say about the NHS for the treatment. As everyone knows/says it’s better at home and helps recovery.

She may rattle a bit with all the extra pills. But hope it’s for the good, she certainly looks better today than when I facetimed. So all good. For now.
My main objective is to stop her overdoing it.Get some shopping in. Try and get the garden under control, and convince them to get a gardener for half a day a week, and get them to order shopping online.

It seems that age has suddenly caught up with them since I last saw them (jan last year).

But they are tough so all good for now.

J

Glad to here its all good. :) :) :)

When I had a quick read about it the other day, the cement stained the sandstone. Ive laid the slabs on a bed on sand n cement
which I have plenty off I aint bought anything to do the joints yet.
I always do them Dan's way. Seen too many slabs with disintegrated joint filling. Use damp sharp sand n cement 3:1, but not wet, and use a small wet dish washing sponge (scrubber on one side) to clean the edges of the slabs before the cement dries.

Sounds good.;)
We couldn't do that as the lads laid them right up to one another, almost no gap at all. We thought it'd be OK, knowing naff all about it at the time. We just left them to it. (SIL and his mate who do a lot of landscaping for peeps.)

Then the weeds started! They can grow through a gap you can't even get a knife blade into.:mad::mad::mad:
and of course they have 6 months to grow before we can get to them.

Very good job done!

In France a drop off a patio of up to 90cms is OK, but in the UK I think it's a lot lower. 30 cms it appears.

:(:(

so yours looks just about OK.;)

I'm so pleased our last patio was properly jointed and has no weed issues!!

W found this article.
Makes some interesting points but misses one thing which is that a DW NEEDS the stuff on the plates to act as a slight abrasive to ensure it can do its job.
The Frog couple who are coming to stay, the bloke always rinses stuff so much his wife once emptied it thinking it had done a cycle!

We never rinse, never have done. All we do is scrape excess fat off.

Just the two of us so a dishwasher is pointless

Just the two of us, so we use one all the time. Better things to do than "your turn to wash, so I'll dry, then we'll both put away!!!".;)
"Ohh, but I unloaded it yesdi.."
'No you dint, twas me..'
"I'm sure I did you know.."
'Nope, that was the day before, remember you broke a glass..'
"FOR GOD'S SAKE I ALWAYS IS UNLOADIN THE DAMN THING! WHO AM I, YOUR BLOODY MOTHER?!" :vb-bouncy3:
Strops oft, no supper, stoney silence for 48 hours :vb-toast:

And guess who empties the dishwasher?
