You burn wood April to September!!!?...it's 29c here today a drop from April which had highs of 30's building a carport just now metal is bloody hot...
If we DID burn wood April to September, a/ we'd be nutters and b/ one stere wouldn't go far!!
We burn about 1/4 to 1/2 a stere per year.
In fact we burn it in April sometimes cos it's cold, and in fact this year it is cold enough to need it a bit this May, sometimes in Sep we need it too.
Being 600 metres up we are a few degs cooler then down in the valley which is still 240 metres above sea level.
It was 16 dgs in the house this morning.
Sorry about you having to work in the heat on a Sunday!;)

There is only one repair that is accepted by British standards its called BS AU 159. The string is legal to use as a temp repair
for road legal vehicles but not for a proper tyre repair company or garage to use I used to string tyres on the roadside
try laying on the hard shoulder with motorway traffic blasting past its doggy as hell. Jump out n see if it was still on the rim
blow it up string it then get the driver to pull off at the next junction & repair it properly.
If a tyre was brought in to the garage with a string repair it is illegal to repair that tyre.
However string/bow tie repairs is legal on agricultural vehicles for non road going only, as for vulcanising been there seen loads
of them explode cause lots of damage & a pita to balance not usually done on car tyres as its not cost effective, loads of
commercial done used to have a company called vaculug do ours probably 10/15 every week.

The British standard repair is a plug, a patch can be used but the outside must be filled with a rubber filler to stop water
getting into the cords.
Did wonder when you were going to jump on and give us chapter and verse!!!!;):):):)

Funnily enough just about to check the hours I am allowed to use a chainsaw, or any other noise making machinery, on a Sunday.
As I need to cut up some logs for the fire.:(
Still cold here and don't want to put on the underfloor heating!
Laws on that in France but I can understand its not much to ask for a Sunday. Nobody could hear me if I did it in the middle of the night not that I'm that mad

Eye is nearly oot of contract wiv plusnet for me internet broadband. We is using copper wire from me castle to bt netwurk. Looks like its 3 or 4 sovs per month cheaper if yer switch to fibre optic from me castle. Means yer can't have a traditional fone but we dun't use or need one. Yer can have a voip voice over internet fone if yer want.

Small engine expert needed
Not small person but man who knows Briggs and Stratton engines
I bought a 13.5 Intek last year for my project and have decided to look at getting it running.
Minus points are that I cant fit a starter an there is no wiring except a plug with white to carb solenoid and black to coil.
Wondering if the black is a ground to stop engine ?
Also it looks like a fixed rpm set up which isn't good

I have a grump on. :(
The transfer of my "stuff" from my PC to the newer one donated by my lad has been problematic. :(
Only connections for 3 out of my 6 drives. Microsoft has decided my paid-for Office applications suite is now "bandit" and won't let it run. The Win 10 pro to Win 11 Pro upgrade was also a fight, but I seems to have won (for the moment). :)
The new PC is water-cooled and virtually silent. :D
It has been a challenging day.
Lastly, my US guest spends so long in the shower we have water leaking through the ceiling. Something not previously experienced in the 30 years of the bathroom's operation. :(
Life sometimes sucks.

Yeah been lookin ta but mine has no starter or electrics so all the wiring info is irrelavent
Just hoping I can disable the fuel shut off solenoid and it'll run with no electrics.
Engine I took out was bigger and self start, had charging system as well so kept a motorbike battery topped up for lights and starting.
might have to run an alternator off the pulleys but that's another job, need to get the thing mobile asap :)
