Wow last entry 2018, doesn't look to be popular!!

Well. it mostly seems to involve people who aren't terribly active on here any more. If you were to start it up again, you might find a few more. After all, this is one of the largest collections of people on the internet who like DIY, technical activities and electronics, many of whom are engineers or technicians for their day jobs, so there's got top be one or two. I can't help, because I've never 'done' radio. I do car mechanics, woodwork, building and latterly, forestry, but I've never been tempted into radio.

Sat wiv me slow cookerer. Its giving oft heat. Sprouts are nice un soft but chopped tayters need a bit longer. Nuvva hour to go tillit hits the required 4 hours cookering. Top gear playing on me wuks fone. Catchin up on worreye missed on ere over the last few days.

If a watched pot never boils, a watched slow cooker must take even longer. I'd never have the patience.

I always put me taters in a bowl of hot water for 10 mins before putting them in the SC, use water boiled for tea and put the water in too, adding some sauce or gravy granules ...

Many used the CB type radios before the walkie talkies and mobiles took over ...

....tonight we are having what we call a "Cowboy meal".
Basically it is minced beef in a thick rich gravy with all the usual vegetables (carrot, onion, celery) plus a tin of baked beans and half a pint or so of rich-beef stock all simmered to perfection.
Then boiled spuds in slices over the top and grated cheese all topped off under the grill to go "crispy". YUM! :D
We have also just diced up all the braising steak and dumped it in red-wine as prep for tomorrow's dinner. ;)

Do mine on low for eight hours, beef lovely and soft, I add peas when I thicken the stock about an hour before it's done.
Usually just use it for beef stews
