Not putting me off :):)
Ive have been taking note of all the hassle you've had, misses is thinking of moving permanently
feckn just got my planning for my garage. I can renovate a place myself probably do it quite
quick if all the materials are on site. :) She hates the winters here cause she feels the cold. :(
I like the winter...scrapping the ice off the inside of the landy, working outside when you cant feel
yer digits. Cant wait o_O :D
If you want any help/advice there are quite a few of us on here, although the ones who have moved over most recently and live here permanently might know stuff we don't.
The only hassle we have had recently has all been down to Brexit, but we are feeling our way around it and can see how you/we could do it. Our son who is married to a Japanese lady lives here full time with her and his two kids.
Our main reason for getting our place was also that Wifey cannot stand the dodgyness of British summers and we don't even live in the frozen North like what you do!
PM me if you feel the need!;)

Ta Much will do, misses is on the phone as per so I wont mention it tonight. ;)

Ive been doing a bit of fencing, using them orrible fence nails bastid fings.
They are a pain, you have to be so careful hammering em in. And I'm not putting up a straightforward fence. I'm working in a jungle where I am forever being scratched to pieces by holly. But I don't want to cut it out of the way cos it might help deter intruders. Nailing old fashioned farmer's steel mesh fence back up and topping it off with barbed wire up to head height.
Working with barbed wire is a total sh!t. In one place I am having to make a head high fence out of strands of it. (They broke the old farmer's fence completely away. And that is several metres long. Nailing them all around trees.:mad::mad:
(Note to self, "must find my better leather gloves")

of feet from the hedge so its easier to maintain then I had to clear up the mess Ahhhhgggg ffs

Quite, I'd almost rather work with brambles!
I do have a pair of newer gloves with fewer holes in them to let the barbs off the wire stick into me or catch on them. But holly especially with my bald head even with a bandanna on.....Sheesh! Too hot to wear a hat, was in work boots and troos as it was in 30 plus degrees of heat and 80% humidity. This is why I got up at dawn today. don't do THAT very feckin often!!
The trees I am banging the nails into are hardwood in fact I think they are holly trees, some of them. Once started I sometimes used my Frog equivalent of a lump hammer. At least I didn't bang my thumb today!
In the UK we use dead holly leaves to deter animals from eating or p!ssing and sh!tting on W's flowers!
