Just got back from the Jazz.
Prohibition jazz.
Always amazes me how Frog peeps will sit through and apparently enjoy a whole evening of jazz sung in Merkin/English.
Anyway.
Grandson who is at the International School in Paris messaged us. He's done very well in his BEPC which is the exams they have to take before going on to the Lycée.
His parents were very worried that he'd do OK at maths, which he is pretty whizz at, but not well in his French.
So when they came to stay a while back for the wedding they made him practise his French "exposé" with me, which is a sort of oral exam. I put him through it and he seemed OK to me . Just gave him a couple of pointers.
Well it seems to have worked cos he got 90% in his maths and 100% in his French!!!
(100% in anything in France is more or less unheard of. The joke is "100% for the examiners, 95% for the teachers and 90% for the best students.")
So obvs we are all over the moon!
