Another bright and sunny day although there is a bit of a gentle breeze about. I expect we will get a dose of the usual seasonal showers though.
I can't believe it is already half way through the week so I must crack on and get some washing done - how one person and two dogs can create so much washing is beyond my comprehension.
Work 'ard and enjoy yourself and it will soon be the weekend.:)

Yet another "gorillas in the mist" day. Can't even see to the bottom of our land, i.e. about 100 metres.
Sposed to be raining all day and we are picking up straw bale, hens, water feeding thingy. (Metal one as we have been though about 3 plastic ones, the sun gets to them all even if you put them in the shade. Twill cost a bit but hopefully "see us out")
Have a nice day folks!:):):)

Well today was a bit of a bust so far.
No hens.
The shop has changed hands a bit since we last went in there, which would have been in 2019 as we haven't been able to keep hens any sense since then.
The blokey who took our order, who apparently is some sort of an "intérimaire" gave everyone the wrong day, Weds instead of Friday. And the bloke who was ringing us all up tell us not to bother coming in had not got to us before we arrived.:mad:
So bought a bale of straw, two plants a packet of dwarf green bean seeds and a noo water dispenser. Still plastic as the only metal one they had was shoooge. But betterer quality than totheren, we hope. At least it went together OK. Lot more complex than the old cheapos!
So, round trip of 21 kms more or less for nuffin. The other stuff we could have got Fridi anyway!!
Spent the rest of the time feckin plumberin.
Why oh why is nothin ever easy?
Had to muck about trying to connect the pan to the cistern thingy, as the threaded bar, (this is only feckin temporary mind.:mad::mad:) is 8mm not 6mm.
Thus the fitting of the nuts under the cistern into the holes in the pan was more critical. So just when I thought I'd positioned them correctly in the cistern, nice and tight, (water tight at least) I then found I had to move em slightly to get em to sit in the holes in the pan. So, moving them, hmm, are they gonna leak now?
Mucked about loosening them, positioning the cistern, tightening the top end by hand as obvs couldn't get to the nuts under the cistern without taking it off, took it off, retightened them, refitted. Well it seems to fit. Then struggled to get the other pair of nuts, nylon and metal washers all under the pan to hold it all still. Always seems a really cr@p way of fitting them to me. I used two nuts to make a lock nut so many times, but only way to do it.
Anyway, tis all on, not leaking and flushing.;)
Now seriously rethinking whether to stick with 8mm for the new stainless ones or to go back to the 6mm stuff they used originally, which seems so flimsy.
Hmm yet again!
When I put it all together originally I just followed the assembly instructions and it went together just like that, with nylon nuts. Never imagined our acid/soft water would send me so far round the bend about 10 years later.
At least I ain't spent any money yet on any stainless.
Been raining all day!:(
Oh and fixed the electric cocktail whisk that I use to make salad dressing with?
Yes! Electric cocktail whisk!!! Doesn't every one have one?;););)
We have two sets of batt operated salt and pepper grinders, but we don't use em. We isn't posh!!;) Fink we got given em. Well that is Wifey's story!!;)
Enjoy the rest of the day folks!!:):):)

....that worryingly, herself has started scanning local estate agents ads online and keeps showing me what she's found.
I didn't spend my years getting this "probate sale pile of ordure" all sorted over the last 30 years just to start all over again really. :(
Looking for a house large enough to house some family 'strays'?:D
