Put me plastic squander card through some pain today. Booked a couple of weeks hols on the sunny isle and some flights to get there, now that travel restrictions have eased off a bit. Seems that flights are harder to come by post covid - prices not risen much but availability much reduced. Had to change my usual airport from Leeds to Mankchester. Only been to Mankchester airport once before and that was because I had to get a guvmint funded repatriation flight home after the airline I went out with went bust while I was on hols.
Similar story on the ferries. Going back to France after the wedding we will be arriving at stoopid O'clock so I will just drive through the night.

I like the recipe, well except the garlic:(. But really wasting alcohol in a pan is over the top;):D.

You could of course deglaze it with anything, even water, but the wine does add nicely to the flavour!
Basically it is just Ratatouille wivout the aubergine. More or less. Oh and the tomatoes, (and prolly other stuff.)
I'd better shut up now afore some cook type comes on and lambasts me.

Best time to drive, more miles v time, I prefer it personally:).

In the past with W driving it would never happen but seeing as it will be me only driving I also don't see why not. She'll moan about not getting decent sleep or being able to see her knitting pattern.
Ferry also often cheaper especially if you don't take a cabin, or even if you do, daytime cabins are really cheap. ;)

When we drive back we generally arrive at the port at very late darkness hours and then drive more on the other side. but it helps when you have 2 drivers.

I'm sorry to read this, we've not had any rain here although it is dull and chilly. :)

Thanks @derwendolly , I like a good rainfall as it's guaranteed there'll be sunshine afterwards and the garden, birds, insects and worms will love it. Even the bats who were already out in force two nights ago at 6.30 p.m. Oddly, the rain has made me re-think my composting function...I need to build three new composters, rotate and accelerate better each spring/summer ready for Autumnal mulching.
