Evening all been oot for a few hours messing about with the landy wiring, the alternator
was wired up wrong was a small brown wire onto the rev counter feed
Cant figure out why the glow plugs are constant live when the key is out ignition.
Pulled the wire off from the ignition switch for now why do people just chop & join wires
when they dont have a clue what they are doing. No battery light on the dash got power
to the circuit but doesnt light the bulb up. Im nearly at the stage of ripping dash out to get a
better look at the loom. Tis a mess tbh.
Think 300tdi don’t need that light in to charge ;)

Think 300tdi don’t need that light in to charge ;)

Ive not checked its charging yet as I would have smoked myself out in the garage/tent tis a 200tdi
in this one, starts fine got all lights working, no wipers, squitters, horn, heater squeels like its getting
murdered  probably fuel & temp wont work either. (going by the rest of it)
dash lights = lights & full beam indicator nowt for the clocks.
cig lighter & mid dash wires all hangin oot with 3 holes in the dash.
Paints a wonderful picture doesnt it. o_O

There's lots of reports and commentry on how it should have been done betterer. Problem is none of them have come up wivva solution to reduce the number of crashes. When yer see crashes happen on the cctv yer can see most are down to peeps making mistakes.like driving too close which causes pile ups when peeps cant stop in time. Eye would be happy to see the motorway limit change to 60mph all over the uk. Dual carrageways need ter drop anorl.
In that case I think i'd go out and shoot meself!!
In Frogland they recently dropped the speed limit on single carriageways from 90 kph to 80. So from just over 56 mph to 50.
They did it to save lives.
They did save a handful of lives, but the ones who normally speed carried on speeding the ones who followed the speed limits just got frustrated as feck and those, like any with an auto TD5 whose box will only lock up at 55 mph, got even more frustrated.
So it by and large not really working, they then changed the law so that single carriageways COULD got back to 90 kph but it was left to local discretion. so that if deaths dramatically rose it couldn't be blamed on Macron relaxing the law. Cunt!
So you can be driving down what, to all intents and purposes, is the same road, but out of and into different communes and the limit will change. Well done Macron you pillock.:mad::mad::mad:
As we all agree, you are less likely to get killed on a Mway than on any other road, particularly A roads which are the most dangerous. And the limit on them is ALREADY 60 mph. It is dividing the carriageways that make dual carriageways and Mways inherently safer. Far less chance of head ons and accidents when turning right across traffic, which is where most fatals happen.
So I can't see that dropping from 70 mph to 60 on "divided highways" would make much difference.

Agree wiv that. But sheer volumn of traffic at peak times makes a lot of our roads flow at the same speed across all lanes. That's when most crashes happen. Cant fink of a fix other than slowing down to make it safer. Can't see peeps driving betterer. Fone rules got harsher over ere wiv penalty points but eye still see many drivers still using them.
What also causes crashes is peeps being so dopey they don't realise they are in completely the wrong lane to make an exit so they charge across the other lanes to just about make it.
On the road from London to down here we know all the places that is likely to happen so we position ourselves in a lane that is safe just in case it happens in front of us. Yessdi we saw TWO extremely near misses caused by exactly this problem.
Ringwood is only 10 minutes away from our place on a dual carriageway, but there is one place where the road widens to three lanes and then soon after traffic has to leave it to turn off to Bournemouth. So we routinely get into the fastest lane to avoid all the pricks who suddenly decide/realise that they need to cross two lanes of traffic to make the exit.
As I said before there is nothing you can do to legislate for stupid, it just exists.:(:(:(
