The morning here started with a big row about whether we should apply for our 6 month visas now, or wait for a month, as, over the last two years, we never got to France before July anyway.:(
Anyway, the row was pointless as the Frogs aren't even accepting visa applications at the moment anyway.:mad:
Had to dash to Poole as the Ferndown branch of Scroofix no longer had the batts, cr2016 , needed for the wife's plip for her car. They did before the hols.
Anyway got them and fitted it before she went to her sewing group.:)
So......most of the rest of the day is mine.
How shall I waste it I wonder?!;)

Aftermorning all tis frosty here sun is coming out, ive been doing paperwork & not been outside yet.
Wee cuppa then im off oot, got use of a garage as one of my neebs is away for another 2 years.
So a wee tip run to clear it out for him.:):)

Wow thats handy:) I take it you have checked the Landy goes through the door before clearing it out:eek:.
At least it will make working on the landy a little more civilized this time of year:).

I loaned mine to a Neighbor once ( when I worked away before a got it ready to rent) and said use the driveway. So it sort of looked like somebody was in the house, was handy for both of us:) He did have to modify my bench to get his XJ6 in as he was restoring a midget in his garage:eek:

We also let the nearest neebs use our driveway whenever we are away. We have more parking space than most whereas with two cars or vans they fill their drive.
Only once let someone use my garage. It was an otherwise empty Marley garage and a mate wanted to spray an escort MK1 in it. God knows how he did it as it was such a squeeze, but he did! And he left no mess at all.
Wish some one would lend me a garage.
Wot with 2 Discos and 2 other cars needing attention.............:(

So yep, @kevstar flies again!!!:rolleyes::D:D:D

Do they start from getting them or on entry? I have had some that start on entry which makes applying easier ahead of time.

J
As it's our first time, it is a bit unclear, all we do know is that you cannot start the application until 3 months before you want to leave, and they ask for some annoying bits of paper so you need time to get them. I fully expect to have to go, in person, to Teignmouth, Devon, to get one of them.
Then they call you for interview.
Then they ask you to provide other stuff and there may be a second interview.
You have to provide evidence of sailings so they expect the visa to start from the day you enter as listed on the booking. I guess once we've got them we can change entry to a later date but not the return booking. Wish it WAS on entry but that would be too confusing for the Frogs!
If others really are interested I'll do a thread about this, but I doubt anyone will be as I don't know anyone else on here in our situation.

Just remembered when I got my Kit Car, as a kit, an old dear, two doors down, let me rent her garage for a pittance to store the panels and tub in. It was lovely and dry and she was grateful for the little dosh I gave her. She didn't and couldn't drive as she had cataracts and was waiting for an NHS op. Not sure she ever got it.:(:(:(

I bet you find stuff in there too good to tip!;)
A mate of mine, non-mechanical, once rang me up to say he was selling his house and had to clear out the garage which still had a load of stuff left in it from the previous owner, who had been a driving instructor.
His actual words were, "I don't know if this will be an Aladdin's cave for you, or just a load of old rubbish!"
So I shot over.
I bagged an Elora imperial socket set in a metal case, an ally bodied old skool Black and Decker drill, countless car light bulbs and other stuff I have forgotten but which I used and am still using!
I could have had two sets of "He-man" dual controls, but obvs had no need for them.
Told another mutual mate, he had also been asked if he was interested and he had said "no, not bothered."
He was feckin mad when I showed him my winnings!:D:D:D:D
One of my very few "Kev" moments!;)

Then they call you for interview.

Do they think they are Yanks or what, Its a bloody holiday visa:rolleyes:.
I have only ever had to go for 1 interview with any of my work visas that was for the states.

Just work it back from when you always come home. Yes the arrival date shouldn't matter if they put a start date. As you say changing a ferry is easy:).

Good luck with it, thing is it seems all EU countries arent working by the same hymn sheet at the moment;).

I wonder how many of us have inherited tools from parents or grandparents?
I never did. Well not from my pa.
He was useless in mechanics, electrics and wood work. good interior designer and decorator though.
Eventually inherited a dovetail saw from one grandpa, and nothing from tother, although both of them were very mechanical being ship's engineers and one of them designed and built two wooden framed "bungalows".
Have other mates who've inherited tons and were given tons of tools as kids.
Inherited my ma's electric singer sewing machine, which I would have used to sew up soft-tops and tonneau covers , if my ex hadn't insisted on taking it when she went.:mad:
She never used it and left it in her ex-boyfriend's place when she left him. Double grrr!
Still, my family buy me tools every Christmas and burfday so I can't complain!:):):)

So what about the rest of us?
Do tell!;):)
