Afternoon folks:).

Not much to report work wise today, its funny how somedays you just bimble around doing little bits and it doesnt really seem that you have done anything in the end, oh well never mind there's always tomorrow and the next day:D.

We are having a teenager problem though.
Couple of weeks ago he came home with his forehead all cut with a big gash above his right eye, that's healed nicely now. Couple of days ago he came home with a bloody nose:eek:. He wont listen to a word we say and keep staying out most of the night:(. Treats the place like a B&B:mad:
He is now limping:rolleyes:.
What to do;).

Oh dear. sorry about this mate.:(:(:(:(
Do you have any idea where he is going and who he is hanging around with?
Does he have mates or a brother or sister that you could talk to or maybe the parents of some of his mates?
You've prolly already thought of putting a tracker on his phone but if he won't cooperate with that it's a non-starter. Does he do noxious substances? Do his clothes get damaged in way which can tell you if this is fight related or summat like riding a bike badly?

Clutching at straws here I feel.:(:(:(

He must by now know that it is worrying you. (If you have managed to talk to him calmly about it.)
Others with more relevant experience will doubtless come on to try to help you.
Best of luck with sorting it out.

Thanx for the offer. Got all the manuals I need for my bikes. They are of value to someone though, don't throw them out. Especially if they are originals. I see Dippy has expressed interest.
The problem is I have too much stuff and little time to deal with it all. I have thrown out loads of stuff that no seems interested in until after it has gone!

Hanging on the phone now, for ages and ages, to alter our ferry booking to come back as we realise it's stupid to make the crossing the last day of our 90 days.

I am guessing its not like the pre Covid days where you just turn up and get on the next ferry.
That's what we have always done, but then we tend to turn up late at night when there are spaces to get straight on:).

J

In that case yes, give yourselves a couple of days incase of issues with the Disco/other.
What they would do if you were late/overstayed I dont know but you dont want to risk it as a black mark for your long stay visa;).
Play it safe:).

J
This is exactly what we have done.
We now have a crossing for the 23rd, even a cabin with a window. (our 90 days runs out on the 28th I think, we arrived in France on the 1/7/2021)
Are just organising the PCR tests.
We will be staying with friends in Cherbourg which will hopefully make things a bit easier, sailing from Caen-Ouistreham.
I fear that if we overstayed without informing the French authorities, and having a good reason, it would indeed be a problem as they would stamp the passport with lord knows what.
Such a pain all this. Still, next year is another year! and all the Covid stuff is just another school day.

He'll be moving her in before long wif all the kits :D

He has been done:) after he reproduced, we were gifted him and his son.
2 totally different cats, but visually twins:).

Although he has been done we have both seem him spray (not in the house) but he certainly has her interest, we also think she has snuck in for a late supper, as the bowls were clear in the morning;).

I guess we will find out if the vet missed some lead in his pencil:D. He has always been a fighter coming home battered, recoup then off again, that was 1 reason the POs got him done, that didn't work:eek:.

Spent the afternoon treating my grass with nematodes to tackle the ongoing chafer grub problem. Same treatment as last year, but I think I might have been a bit late in the year and it wasn't fully successful. Combine harvesters are working in the fields next to Wimblowdriver Towers today, chucking up big dust clouds which are blowing this way :(.

None of that country air malarkey here, just diesel fumes and revving engines!

There's a bit of diesel in the air here too. Farming is done here on an industrial scale, big machines and minimal manpower. Couple of years ago I watched them taking a potato crop in. When I was a nippa, spud picking was done in october when the kids had a week off school, we got paid £1 a day (BIG pocket money back then), all manual labour with minimal machinery - just one clapped out tractor and a trailer or two. Now its big machines, and what we did in a week is now done in a few hours.

I did potato picking in 1978/1979 :) I don't remember the money but I know I was popular ;)
