Well got out and under, the gearbox is nearly full of ATF so HUGE relief!!
So the problem lies either with the sensor or with muck in the ATF cooler's fins.
I have posted a little bit elsewhere, and looked in Rave, but I cannot find what to do to easily access the tranny cooler to give it a fairly gentle wash out with the hose.
I will persevere, but if anyone reading this knows, please tell as i don't want to waste time in this feckin heat and humidity.
Oh and by the way the "thrum...thrum", at higher speeds, has turned into a drone and a bit of vibration, still there when in neutral. So I am getting more and more sure it ought to be a prop. But that can wait until I've sorted out the high ATF temps.
to think this day of the week used to be my extra day off when I went part time, two years before retirement!!!
Han't had a Friday off in Years!
In my efforts to cure the leak, (fruitless) I changed the oil filter and oil , last year I think yes, deffo cos I had to mend one of the clamps before I could put the sump back on. So it's done about 6-7k with the new one on and I leak so much fluid I have prolly changed all of it by now!Is there not a filter on the auto box? If it needs changed it could make temperatures climb a bit

It's become a bit of a game. We typically buy the same stuff, when needed each week. Some fings like washing powder last a mumf. If eye spot it's ont offer eye will gerrit anyway even if we dunt need it. The saving ont frozen foods each year goes way past the eggstra cost of running one fridge and one freezer, which are seperate. If eye bortid a combined fridge freezer it would be cheaper to run int comparison. We dunt go mad wivvit and stock pile ter the roof. Just enuff to gain from the discounts. We dunt over buy ont perishable stuff as that would be a waste. Eye int eatid a fish wiv me chips this year that int been ont sale.I used to do such things but life is short. If I want it, I buy it.
