I don't 'ave any debts but it doesn't stop folks from finding some way of needing to spend my money!
This month alone £640 for tyres, £159 for TV licence, £530 for car insurance, £110 boiler service and its only half way through the month.
That is going to dent your purse somewhat :(
Everything we pay for is done on line now so no post!

...that my Steel(s) have arrived for the seam remover and the rack support struts. View attachment 245343

So I had another go at it and what a difference! View attachment 245344
The seam appears to have been removed and no damage done to self or tooling.

And here is the slug with the HSS tool steel at the exit end of the tube having been pulled all the way through.

So would a 35mm tube now just slip in there smooth as silk? Errrr.....Nope! View attachment 245345

It is good to remember that all tubing sizes are "nominal" sizes and there can always be some variation.
Undaunted, I took a piece of 35mm Square tube of 2mm wall thickness and attacked it with the "nominal-size-adjuster" on all 4 sides progressively in rotation until with a metallic "pop" it began to slide in.

After several more goes and some "polishing" with emery cloth and a wire cup-brush I was able to shove it in both ends to a depth of 10-Inches. Most satisfying I am sure you will agree. View attachment 245347

Here she is with both ends stuffed with 10" of adjusted metal tube. Yay! Success. View attachment 245346

Taking the size of the inserts down by maybe 0.5mm overall on all 4 faces will just return the tube to the same thickness as the outer tube. I do not believe strength will be significantly compromised.

I am quite pleased to get the result I wanted. :)

Time to clear the benches Dan:eek:

Maybe you need more tool boxes:D.

Great work though, its surprising what you can do when you have the time:D.

Based on our current out goings, it costs us around £900 a month just to live here (includes food etc). Once we move that will drop to around £800 because rates etc are cheaper. That equates to around £10k a year to do nothing but live a normal life!
Don't get me adding all mine up or I'll just fade away! Having said that, my ambition is to depart this earth with my last penny left on the table for peeps to remember me by. :D

I forgot, and £54 for the MOT

We spend more money on our UK properties than ours here:(

Think I have spent some on beer:eek:.
Oh I did pay around £12 for a bobcat bucket of sand (1/2T ish) and 3 25kg bags of cement.
Now I have to use the bloody stuff:eek:.

Well done, you must be chuffed!:):):)
(I am also chuffed that your workbench is only fractionally tidier than mine!;):D:D:D)

Why buy a new shredder? you could just burn it:eek::).

J
In summer?
Here in Frogland you have no right to burn any garden waste nor nuffink, at any time of the year.:(:(:(
so unless you choose to put it in your log-burner you have to take it miles away to the local council dump.

(So everyone dumps it in nearby woods.;))
The goody goodies compost it.:):)

And no we ain't goody goody!;)

Mine's the same, mostly. The dog groomer is cash and the boiler man is cheque and the supermarket is Debit card.
We pay for a lot with credit cards that earn us points that we can spend come Christmas. The Tesco one used to nearly pay for all the booze and treats at Christmas, but it ain't so good now, Wifey's John Lewis card does the same.
Both paid off at the end of the months, obvs!;)
