Well the day isn't getting any better.:mad::mad:
I started the job by finding my LR jack, in the left rear pannier, despite being stored upright, has leaked AGAIN.
so I had to empty the pannier, clean up etc, you can imagine.:mad:
I thus expected it not to work and to need yet more oil but no it lifted the Disco up to the maximum height of the jack.
So I espied the front prop and decided to attack the difficult end first, the front, I thought.
With my one standard 9/16 3/8 drive socket and a 14mm spanner that just about fits. 3 of the bolts came undone, but the 4th? No. the head on it was just a bit thinner than the others so the socket kept slipping off, and of course with no proper spanner I couldn't get the nut undone either.:mad::mad:
So said to myself that, although I really wanted to grease the UJ off the car, so I could get it to go through all the positions fully and feel for any tightness or loose spots, that wasn't going to happen.
So I gets my grease gun, which I hardly ever use, and no grease is coming out of it. I knew it wasn't empty so I undo the cap thingy and pull out the rod plunger and spring. To find most of the grease is the wrong side of the plunger. Messy job friggin around scraping the stuff off the spring and the back of the plunger then putting it in the tube.:(:(
Then I had to fight to get the plunger and cap back in far enough down to engage the thread against the spring. By this time everything is covered in grease and fighting me.:mad::mad: Many swearwords later I get it all together, crawl under the car and attempt to grease the nipple, having of course ensured the ball in the end of the nipple is free to move.
This flaming grease gun has a flexible tube. (only one I could easily get when I bought it a few years back). So you need three hands one of which needs to be like Arnie Schwarzenegger's to be able to do this job. I am not built like this, so got the barrel against my chest and the lever in one hand while trying to hold the end of the flexi against the nipple.
You've guessed it, grease went everywhere except in the nipple, as far as I could tell.
So dodge number one, a bit of kitchen towel over the nipple and try again.
Still didn't work.
Totally ffed off by this stage so .........gave up.:(:(:(
90 degs F in the shade so very blinking hot although the car was cunningly parked in the shade of the front of the house.
Came in, stripped off, washed in Swearfinger and am now consuming Panaché and posting to you lot. Still got the tools to put away and a plastic bag to find to put the bloody jack in.:rolleyes:
I will have to order that 9/16 spanner and just wait for another time.
Grrr!
Hope your days are all going better than mine!:):):):)

Only liked as thems the rulz. Mate, you really do go through it. My sympathies are with you. Hopefully you will be able to tackle it before you return to Blighty. Enjoy your Panaché (whatever that is?) and the rest of your day!

Cheers mate! Things to do with LRs are always so much easier A if you have another vehicle and B in the UK as tools etc are so much easier to get hold of!
Panaché is Frog for a shandy, (So much more refreshing than straight beer in the heat, home made of course none of that gnat's you can buy ready made!) or a "Smiler" as my dad used to call them, used in Hull back in the day!

We use a friends Netflicks account here;);), Dont tell anyone:). She put it on for watching when she was here;)
Funny thing is we get to watch more than she can in the UK. go figure Amazon has brought rights(or whatever and tied it up somehow) and she cant see what we can:D:D:D.

With the use of a vpn you can get around such things....

Afternoon folks:).

well its been another scorcher:).
Removed formwork and used it to make a bit more, dug oles for same, got them placed. So ready to go off to get some sand and cement amorrow.

2 new tyres arrived today to replace our 2 pothole bashed bubble wall tyres:(.

Oh and M had a call from a friend. Is your orse trailer for sale? He came and looked today and took it for a tow. We know he likes it:), We have towed back an orse box for him before and he sold it and brought the 1 we had already. that was the time we towed back with 2 cars and 3 trailers:D.
Still lets see, M don't have a orse at the moment and She would prefer the slightly newer better layout, as long as we can break even:).
He also said if we go back to the UK can we bring back another, sounds like the Bulgarians are liking the Equitrek trailers:).

Downside is it has moved the repair of said trailer up the todo list;). I have already told M I can only do 3 things at once.
