Guid afternoon
Sunny day
Son's SQA results dropped thro the letterbox followed swiftly by a text from Glasgow University confirming his acceptance, Computing Science.
He starts 12th Sept and good news as no Halls of Residence costs as its a 15 min bus ride from home.
Wife just gave him £1500.00 for a laptop that she had promised if he got in, so hes off to the Apple store to see whats available.
I've applied for a job with the Council, but will probably not get it as not politically correct enough, but it demonstrates to the Social that I am trying so validates my Job Seekers Allowance.
So happy days this end,

I think it is "fair game" to apply for lots of jobs that you are totally unsuited for (who are they to deny your "aspirations" ;) ) and just let the rejections wash off you like water off a duck's back and keep taking the money. :)

I'm happy for you all!
Do warn him though that laptops go walkies in unis very quickly, chain it to his bod and bring it home with him.
If he was in Halls of Residence he'd be far more likely to "lose" it.
Worff doing lots of back-ups though.
so what job in a Scottish council is not suitable for a Scottish person? Or would you be better off if you went in a kilt and a Orange wig and told everyone you self-identify as a female, Celtic Martian?

Why, the EU/World time zones are done for a reason arent they? Although I believe there has been some talk that the whole world should be on the same time, regardless of sun up/down:eek:.

I am good with beer O clock as a good place to start the conversation, Leading on to a Curry:D:p (not even going to entertain a food blogger) Its a Curry cos of what's in it thats the food category its in:D.
