Afternoon folks:).

Well its been a good day got some more done. On track for the plan;), have quit for the day now and we will be going to our little eatery for grub as neither of us can be bothered to cook or to that point decide what to get out of the freezer.
Also baby sitting the builderers across the road doing work on our friends place. They have already borrowed a float and trowel. His eyes lit up when I gave him my "huge" brickie trowel, they don't use them here for some reason, all they had was a what I would call a roofing (gauging?) trowel.
They do a lot of things different here and its hard to get a tame 1 that follows instruction rather than saying yeah yeah then going off and doing what they want;).

Anyway its still ot and loving it:D:D.

Yep we both just do it:)
Although M will wait for it to warm up a bit more than me. M may agree 22 is a tad cool for her too:D.

One thing I have never understood it that altho wimmins have a thicker layer of subcutaneous fat than mens, they seem to feel the cold more.:confused::confused:
They reckon that back when they were taming the Wild West a lot of women survived wagon trains in the snow and deep cold, when their blokes didn't, down to exactly this physical phenomenon.
Hard to find proof of this but this horrendous story relates a bit where in a smaller group, a lot of the men died but "all the women survived" in tremendous cold.

This came from my Ma the doc who was a dermatologist so must have known summat about it!
I would never dream of telling any wimmins she is fat. I like my teef where they is!!!:):)
and my beer in my glass!;)

I haven't been swimming in over ten years! I only learnt when I was in my mid thirties. Not a big fan to be fair!
We have friends who come up to our pool with hats. They get in and float around, drinking and enjoying the cool!
I do at least swim a bit before putting a hat or a bandana on!
Baldness, no cure for it!:(
I could swim from an early age, Albert Baths, Hull, or was it Victoria, might have been both! Burd taught us all doggy paddle which is why I can only beat anyone in the water with that stroke!
But was never confident until when I was about 34 we went to Greece where the water was so warm I relaxed an found I could actually swim a lot further than I thought.
But no I don't do endless lengths. Should really, might lose a bit of weight!;)

School mate of mine, wayback;), His Dad couldn’t swim and he started work on the trawlers and then overseas in the oil on barges.
He always used to say if it happens he didnt want to prolong it so why bother to even learn;) Suppose he had a point:).

My Mrs can swim and she has even been known to dive from the spring board. She taught our children. I just sat on the side and encouraged them :)
I think if it came to it I could get myself out of trouble but I tend not to go near water in the first place!

I try not to get on boats and if a plane crashed into the ocean I would rather go down with it to be fair!

One of my son-in-laws had a horrendous experience as a kid which put him off getting into water for life.
He was running down a beach on a family holiday when he fell into a huge hole someone had dug in the sand. there was water at the bottom and he couldn't get out, every time he tried to pull himself up the sand just caved in again. In the end his brother saw and pulled him out, he must have been very little at the time. Frightened himself witless.
All he will do in our pool is paddle. :(:(:(
Such a shame as all our kids swim ffing well, teams and that, one even did the synchronised thing. So his missus can swim like a dolphin. (Well more like a little whale, as she is bit big now!;))

I was five and my brother threw me into the deep end at the public baths. It was probably that incident that put me off :)

When I was 12 he picked me up by my neck because I insulted his car. We are not close  I haven't spoken to him in many years tbh
OOps!
That's a shame.
Me and my bruv didn't talk for ages too. down to his wife being a snidey cow. But when she was dying he got back in touch and since then we are in regular contact.
He's been through and is still going through some very tough health problems so I am glad we now get on again.
But the situation with your brother is fairly common i think. The son-in-law in question never speaks to the brother I mentioned pulled him out. I have met him and he is real class A sh!te.
Families eh?:(

Yeah, I have three brothers and it will be a cold day in hell before I talk to any of them.

Is anyone else even considering the heating today? I’m roasting as I’ve been beavering, the wife is freezing as she’s glued to her work laptop  apparently other folks on social media are cold too

Go chop some wood or summit
Nope, I have locked the Hive so only I can switch it on and I ain't cold :) I am sat in shorts and a T shirt!
