Yes indeed, but the "purpose" could be to live & long & happy "rest of life" doing things that you really enjoy instead of working for the man.
My Brother-in-Law (Martin) refuses to retire for the same reasons as you, but like you he has cut his hours to 3 days a week.
He will be 75 this year and he shows no signs of keeling over. :)
I turned 50 this year so retiring now even though I can would be a pizz take and I’ll end up on a manslaughter charge if confined to HQ 7 days a week :D

I managed to entangle my P38 with a low-level steel-hoop bollard and have damaged it.:mad::mad:

Guid afternoon

Another sizzler around 27 deg I recon
Aborted day out to Largs with family due to A787 road closure and grid locked detour on country roads, turned around after travelling 1/4 mile in 30 mins.
Best laid plans will perhaps try again tomorrow.
On a positive note my 17 year old son got his first vaccination on a walk in,he is 18 next month so was allowed.

Well will go to the gym shortly (well it is air conditioned so cooler than the hoose.)

Brilliant timing with this early retirement lark and the brilliant weather.

Enjoy the rest of the day all

I have abandoned my tin tent and come 'ome with the K9s. 29.5 is way beyond my and their tolerance. It is forecast to go cooler on Thursday and to rain on Sat and Sun so, after a good might's sleep, or two, we will return. :) Both K9s are lying out in the garden in the heavy shade.
Glad you all got home and into the cool safely. There is always another time when the weather is a little less fierce. :)

You'd hate it here then.;)

Been to se the local scuff s n dents man, he says £200 to fix it. That's much less than my 1st £300 excess if I claimed on the In-Sewer-Ants. :D
So there goes my "beer money" for this month. :(
That's not bad is it?
Wifey has called upon a guy I knew as an ex pupil and he did it on the drive, £150 but that may be "mates rates".
She attracts idiots in her little thing.
He repaired once a place he'd repaired before! Hit and run, still much cheaper than the loading/premium thing.
You'll be happy once it's been done.:)

... just appeared on the TV is the house I put an offer in on in 1980.
It is on the A46 in Avening Village. It is the churchwardens cottage and came complete with a 1 horse stable and a pigsty.
The church graveyard is at the back of the property beyond the garden wall. There were tiny little trout in that stream.
That "bridge" across the stream is a solid slab of limestone.
We didn't buy because it it was a wreck with active "death-watch" beetle in the roof timbers and a host of other issues.
The council kindly told us they would condemn it if we bought it and that they had the current owners ina council care home and it was their only asset.
It was bought by a builder I think.
