Well it's been ferkin hot here both yssdi and today.
Last nite I went to bed at about midnight, so hot I couldn't sleep, came downstairs, tried the chair and footstool, no good, dogs' sofa, no good, floor, no good, in the end I pulled all the cushions off the dogs' sofa, except one for me head, and kipped like that.
Not funny!
Up v early, 7:00 a.m. :eek::eek::eek: to go pick up the stuff from the auction. They are so busy they aren't allowing stuff to just go round again, so that all went to a charity shop, where we bought a Raclette machine, for much less than new! £10, and it had obvs just been used once.
Result!
The digital camera back/body is new and had all the stuff, brill, that's 59 sovs worth, even came with the battery charger etc. Packets inside the box unopened all it needs is an SD card and a lens!
And the Yank 1915 Binos are great too, checked them out on finished sales on the Bay, some go for over £100.
The rest is fascinating stuff, but all 35 mm or even older. Nice antiques/classics, but I have no use for them. Will have to think how I'm getting rid of them. I'll prolly keep the very best.
The 400mm lens screws onto a Praktica camera body, of which there are several.
All good fun!
Messed about after that getting Covid antigen tests for the day before we leave,:eek::eek: Have to go to bleddy Southampton.:rolleyes:
Got a letter form the neurologist who has sat on my DVLA form for over a month. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
IDIOT! And i warned him back in Feb he'd have to do it as soon as it came in. Incandescent does not describe me.
So had to send grovelling emails to the DVLA complaints dept etc. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:. Not a snowball in hell's chance of getting my licence now before we leave methinks, despite my grovelling prone on my belly, not a pretty sight!
Got copies of MOT, green card, (official new style one),
All such a pain, especially in the heat. It's getting so I know my passport number and NHS number off by heart.
Anyway, my troubles are pathetic compared to others' so ignore me! Don't often get stressed.:(:(

Hello Stanley
Just wanted to acknowledge your observation about other folks' troubles. Over a lifetime Mme de Gonflage and I have suffered all manner of slings and arrers and we long ago put them into perspective by looking at the troubles of others around the world and we arrived at, "What troubles ? At least we are not being bombed or shot at."

HOW DARE people complain that their flight to Ma Bella has been delayed for half an hour. Grrrrr !

We SHALL have nice evening now, thank you.

So, gots a.meemo from the new boss, it appears that the discretional half hour early finish on a Friday, which had become a standard since we are all grafters , has become unsustainable.and we all work full contract hours now. 'Required ' no bloody less.

I gets in early everyday.
I works my lunch everyday ( nuffink better to do tbh)
I dunt has fag breaks.

None of the above will apply in future.
I shall have non-fag breaks wif all the rest.

In saving half an hour a week, they'll lose about seven from me.
So much for Captains of Industry. :rolleyes:

I remember a colleague of mine once saying about a Head in a school he worked in remarking that he was "a little late" one morning. (The guy had had polio as a kid so getting around in callipers was never easy for him anyway) so he said back to him, "OK, I'll just work an extra 15 minutes at the end of the day".
Which is a standing joke in our profession, especially in my subject. Very rarely went home before 1 1/2 hours after the end of the day.
Some bosses don't know when to speak and when to keep their mouths shut!
If you all work to rule like this, productivity will go down and then his head will be on the chopping block, with a bit of luck!
