Never was aware it got that feckin hot in your neck of the woods! We have special cushions on the steamer chairs, but if you forget!!.......Yes the wooden furniture has cushions so not so bad, plus they are usually under a brolly cos the sun is so hot. Must look at getting a new brolly we are trying to get 1 of the really big ones used in pub gardens.
We have some of that misting hose and nozzles hanging around the edge and that helps alot.

Are we now on cricket boxes, or the cup?I tend to wear trousers, you must be hard core to work in just your pants
I can't like the post but I am with you. We have been through similar recently and now I will not bale them out. Some day we won't be around to bale em out so they will have to learn one day!... I am beyond mildly cross.
Wife visits Son (where I have toiled all week) to be told that he has not enough money to do the rest of the required works.
She comes home with "we have to help them" and "we should lend them the money".
This is the same pair that cost me £16k to renew the lease in their last but one place so they could even sell it.; and who just had to have a £15k wedding that they could not pay for and still owe me £13,500 on (after 2 years).
I told the wife I was not interested in burning through my money so he could keep his dozy tart of a wife "happy".
I am sorry to report that loud and angry words have been exchanged.
My suggestion that "if we keep on meekly giving, that cnut will happily keep on taking" did not go down well.
I am rather fed-up.

The carpet! The carpet? Or you on all fours in only your under-crackers? The world probably needs not to know.

Indeed.Mate I cannot agree with you too strongly.
I would be more than fed up. I would be incandescent.
I'm biting my tongue a bit here.
In fact a lot.
So will have to rely on the unoriginal "cut your coat according to your cloth".
Personally I can see absolutely no reason for, or justification for, such selfish behaviour. Just because you happen to be related does not mean all your cash should go his way with little chance of it coming back.
A friend of mine once lent a "mate" £15k because otherwise he was going to "lose his house". This guy was an absolute prick who, together with his mrs was incapable of living within his income. So we discussed it and I suggested that if he really wanted to "lend" him the money he do it legally with a charge on his house, etc. He did do this. Blokey went bankrupt and after the mortgage company etc took their chunk, there was nothing left for my friend. Very tough lesson learned.
We had to do similar with out middle daughter once. But did get the money back. I was not happy, but have never had to do it again.
Best of luck with all this mate, arguing with the spouse over money is horrible. A lesson I learned from my Dad, and a method for how to avoid it when married. He was right and thus had no rows with my ex over it nor with Wifey.
Thanks for this Mate, we were watching it!If any of you were upset that the final episode of "Viewpoint" was dropped because of the allegations against the star of the serie, then be aware it is available (for a short time) on the ITV "Hub". Becuase the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and the woke brigade have forgotten there is a hub service.
Ta!Looking good @DanClarke
A 4 jaw is invaluable when machining odd shapes or square stock. Also, if you are doing something precision it is the best solution. I hold an ER32 collet chuck in mine to get repeatability on round stock. Yes it is worth the investment if you take the time to learn how to use it!!Ta!
q. My 3-jaw scroll-chuck seems to have a decent accuracy/centricity (c.1..3 thou') depending on the moon/stars etc. The 4-jaw independent I have bought will need to be "dialled in" EVERY TIME I use it.
For just general stuff, is the 4-jaw overhead really worthwhile?
Answers on a postcard TO: "I don't know what I am doing with this little lathe"
