Brief Description:

This is a large area of abandoned limestone quarries, also known as Herbert’s Quarry, in the Brecon Beacons National Park Black Mountain region.

The lime from the quarries was used in a great many industries from farming and building to iron production. The quarries were in constant use until production ceased in the 1950s.

That is perfectly fine, Thats the best way to do it, although i usually use white speed fit for the tails coming out of the floor as it does not need painting and gives a bit of flexibility when changing valves or rads
using plastic under the floor makes it quieter as you dont get the expansion clicking, you get less heat loss through plastic and a lot less joints as you can cable it through the joists and the life span well its been around since the seventys with out issue
Its the first 2m out of the boiler that needs to be copper or you can fit a fancy pipe stat to wire into the boiler to make sure the pipe will not melt.

Evening all, got rained off at 11am so buggered off to the yard. My mate's ignition switch sh@t its self
on his 90 on the way there. I ending up wiring hidden switches & cut offs as he wanted a push button
starter, he started on the wooden gates for another job.

No pics yet but they are Siberian larch same as the hand rails on the decking job.

Got offered 10"x10" by 4.2m oak beams 35 of them for 1500 quid, so I had our friendly architect
go to my house to see an measure up for a new garage. 8m x 8m with an floor above for more
stuff

Btw I done all my house with copper piping, we are next to a burn/stream & have had rats under the floor so plastic was ruled out in case one of them decided they wanted a drink

If you int gots a sharpner, then a Lansky Blade Medic is a cheepy fix.
I keeps one in the drawer wif the kitching knives, coupla passes each time they come out for business.
(I int got posh knives mind you).

Edit. If you has a sharpner, please bloody use it! Hates blunt knives, might as well draw lines on it an use it to measure fings..

We use diamond plate sharpeners for chisels n choppy stabby tools

Just re-did all the Son's house in plastic for both CH & DHW.
The reason for the copper tails to the rads is that copper is more robust when hit repeatedly by a vacuum cleaner wielded by an angry woman.
Other than that plastic is a dream to work with and very safe in protected areas.

I just bought my first ever wrecking knife. Very impressed I am.

Bahco brand and sharp as a new chisel on both long & short edge. Can be hammered on the back of the blade and the handle.
Simple tools that do what they should are always preferred. I also bought a Bosch SDS Clic quick-release angry-grinder blade retainer, also very good.

No, it was a genuine statement.

I was trying to extract some beer cans from the plastic rings and the penknife was no better than a butter knife.
