Now the weather has turned a little chilly it does reveal one problem with my trattor, the cab is so hot like a sauna, getting out into the cold is quite a shock. I guess that's a bit like them strange Nordic types that jump in cold water after a sauna

I note the latest Defenders don't have flaps, just pseudo ones. Pparently one has to use the aircon. The guy wldnt let me open the window when I drove - he kept putting it back up going "just put the air con on!!!". It was weird - used to me drafty tratter!

Yes I like the window open - I wear a hat if it's raining - but only if its not too hard! I realise that makes me sound a bit loony btwSeen that too! Sad!
I always have the window open, unless it is raining.

Not at all! Not much room inside for yer arm with the window up!
On the first landrovers, door tops were an option!

Door's and roof's were an option on the first LR's. It kept the price down on the base spec vehicle. Yer has to appreciate peeps were short of cash due to the war so cost was a major factor. Price was said to be something like £470 for the base vehicle which was roughly the same as a house at the time.Not at all! Not much room inside for yer arm with the window up!
On the first landrovers, door tops were an option!

It was a farm vehicle. Doors are actually a pain when you are in an out of the vehicle all the time checking stock etc.
Tractors at the time were completely open, and in some ways that was better for work than a cab.

I had a go in a newish tratter t'other day. It has air suspension fitted. Loads of sound proofing. Engine messed with to try to make it faster. Propper carpet and arm rests. Not to mention 2 fluffy dice. I thought it were a bag of sh*** but the owner said it was his pride and joy. He wouldn't let me take a pic for you scum bags due to security. I gave him some tip's on security and a few things to think about. He has pig's anorl.
