Up not very early, wotched the bollox ont news while brekfustin.
Got under Disco wiv new bolt and Nyloc nut, was able to get overlength bolt up to torque and it didn't go round and round like the old bolt did, int ole. o_O:rolleyes::confused:
So still put Nyloc ont back end of bolt. Bastud of an awkward job.
LR hydraulic jack, wot I topped up wiv oil a while back went right up to the point at which it should've lifted Disco off ground, then lever finally gave up pumping oil.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
So bak to drawing board with that one! Which is why I am glad I carry the just-in-case trolley.;)

Oh and found bearings which I thort I'd left in Frogland, so that was nice!:):):)
Hasn't rained for two days now, which has helped.:)
Enjoy the rest of your day, each and all!:)

...that the faux-shutters are almost finished.
The panels have warped again with the application of the paint on the outside face :(
I am hoping that they will dry out and resume their "flat" appearance.
Anyway, if we can resolve a few minor issues like this, then herself is very pleased with them.

All looks very nice.!:)
Remind me, what is the wallpaper stuck to?
And could you not take the warp out by coating the other side with paper paste or varnish again?
Or would you have to use steam and weights to flatten it/them?
Mabe with some side-on pics others may have ideas.
But the room looks beautifully "dressed", and nicely in keeping with the age of the house.
Well done!

The 3mm Birch-ply panels arrived cnc milled and nicely precise and perfectly flat.
Each application of:
  • Primer/undercoat (to seal the surfaces) 2 coats.
  • Paste & wallpaper (both sides).
Has caused the panels to warp in multiple directions. They had straightened up pretty much at the paint (2 coats) stage.
The pretty paper (inside face) warped a little. Then the anaglypta on the outer face a little more (in the opposite direction).
The last stage (paint on the anaglypta face seems to have pushed it over the edge and now they are a bit like nacho's/Taco's.
I have all of them stacked on the dining room table with weights on top of them. I hope they straighten up enough to be useful; else it is back to the drawing-board.:p
