Due to the divorce he has had to turn his workshop into his new house so all his machinery, like this, is now stored somewhere. Dunno if he'll ever get it all back and running. I think he is retiring basically. but we'll see!I did just burst out laughing haha

That reminds me of my dad's workshop only his building was red brick. Sadly, the business was sold after his death in 1952.

Certainly do remember them. Never thought they were a good idea, spotty youths with a monster bike and one of those was a lethal combination. When I was a yoof I bought a clapped out BSA A10 with a double adult bathyscope on the side, for use in the winter as I was still on L plates and was allowed on a provisional licence. The BSA was so clapped that it was soon stripped down and forgotten, and I went on to jap bikes which were a whole lot more reliable.Anybody else remember the sidewinder leany luggage sidecars that came about when the Motybike laws changed around 1980?I
