This morning I investigated the squeaky brakes. Started at the rear corner under suspicion. Pads disintegrating . Noo pads ordered. Need to have a check on the front brakes (soon).
This morning I investigated the squeaky brakes. Started at the rear corner under suspicion. Pads disintegrating . Noo pads ordered. Need to have a check on the front brakes (soon).
I routinely keep an eye on them. Still show a good pad thickness, only half worn down. But today I took them out to clean and copper grease them and replace with noo split pins n springy things. Friction material is delaminating from the steel plates and starting to crumble . They are the originals they left the factory with, but now pushing 8 years old n 45k miles. I have never had pads this old in any car ever so age wise I now know their limits. Will have the front pads out tomorrow (probably).Cripes, that's a bit scary
Oh this is 50T on a 29” rear wheel.Wow! 50T on the rear cluster is too big for a 20" wheel (almost 1/2 the size of the wheel itself)
