Good progress on the Spydiemobile tonight.
The Gear Cage is painted up and fitted to the back door.
The rear chequerplate cappings are fitted.
The Engine is making seriously good progress.
I've found on my doorstep at home, the people who did all of the hoses for a 4x4 is born. I've sorted the hose issue with the raised intake, so I'll pick up the bit tomorrow. One less headache.
Tomorrow night, it's fit rear bumpstops, axle check straps and steering wheel for me and more on the engine for DB. We're not far from having fire in the pipe.

Bloody hell

You ain't doin a repair job.... you is breedin a bleedin monster!

can i borrow it?

What? ECU 'n' stuff.

Not sure about that - would be happy to come take a look. I get the impresion there will be a bit of work with a DVM as well.

The problem needs to diagnosed, then fixed. A patch up is not the way to go. Trust me, it took me a full 12 months to get mine sorted, but having been through it I have a fair idea of what does what with which and to whom and I can say the "experts" weren't even close, even after plugging it in but that is not to say I have all the answers. I'm happy to give it a shot, but no guarantees.

If you want a hand send me a PM.

It never was just a repair job, that would have been easy, until it broke again.
This is a serious rebuild with upgrades, to make something that's stronger, faster, more comfortable, more reliable and way more capable than ever before. The Bionic Series.:D:D:D
If it goes anywhere near as good as it looks I'll be happy, but I think it will be way better than my previous expectations.
I'm looking forward to smoke free motoring too.
I'm really pleased I ran it standard for a year, to find out exactly where it's shortcomings were, plus I learnt how to get the most of from what little I had.
Certainly made me a better driver. Having picked up all the information I needed, it let me focus on where and how to improve it, to do what I wanted to do with it, rather than just throw money at it and waste most of it.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what it can do on Salisbury Plain.

Did the cage work out Ok, with the mounting points and plates. If you get chance put up some pictures. CHEERS.

Kris, the Cage is perfect.:D:D:D I'll take and post some pictures tonight.
The top fixings sit just under the Steel cross support and the lower ones sit just above the lower rail, so perfect really. I've mounted the Cage on 4mm rubber pads made from some flooring I had, to insulate the Steel from the Aluminium, plus to stop it rattling.
You'll be making them for the rest of your days, once people have seen it. They'll all want one.

Ok mate, well im not sure what lanes or where we will head to but i will try to get something together.

Now you tell me!!

The rad was only 12 months old but I kinda put a hole in it two weeks after putting it in:eek: but the big problem was the oil pipe union. I've been running it for a while with ptfe tape holding it together but it has finally given up, so it's a case of doing what needs to be done.

Hopefully will be up and running for Saturday but will let you know.

Sorry mate slightly late i feel lol, well if you need a hand with any of it let me know more than happy to help. Also any other new parts u require drop me a text first just make sure i cant get them b4 you order :D

Tonight went well.
Inertia Reel Seat Belt fitted.
Steering Wheel fitted.
Dry fit of the engine plumbing for snorkel.
Fuel system fitted.
I recon there will be fire in the pipe tomorrow night.

If I dont die of exaustion first.:)
Been a bit of an epic really with all the mods we have done to it and fingers crossed it will have a running engine by this time tommorrow night. :p
I really wish I had more time to do it all together instead of grabbing a few hours here and there oh and a garage so I didnt get so wet:eek:

I really like the quailty of the Silicone Hoses and Aluminium Piping that I got today. It so much nicer working with good quality new parts. I need to visit the stainless steel shop again tomorrow, need some more fasteners. There's nothing quite like Stainless, bit more expensive to start with, but at least it can be undone again, when ordinary fixings are rusted solid.

The finished result taking shape in front of us, will be worth all of the effort.
Don't know about you, but I've enjoyed every minute of the build so far, rain or shine.:D
Until Ryder mentioned it earlier, I hadn't even thought about how much it was all costing.

Admit it, you're just into bling;)

Sounds good though, definately in the home straight, when do you think you'll be shaking it down?

Nothing on my Landy, that isn't 100% functional.:p:p:p

Shake-down really depends on DB getting it fired up. I'm down by Salisbury Plain this w/e for a wedding and DB is in Ireland for a week from Saturday.
The plan is to drive it away this Friday night, which gives me next week to do bump stops, axle straps, Gearbox Oils and generally get used to how it drives.
Then the last week to sort any problems, sort some 12v power outlets and have a bit of fun with it before Salisbury, plus give it a bit of a clean-up.

Well that's the plan anyway.
