Hertfordshire Lanes?????

i've only ever done 2 drag rods in almost 10 years track rods well i've bent lots even tubed onesbut we're not talking greenlaning here maybe a couple but mostly competing, laying out or feckin about at a play day

With regards to HD arms etc, I run a steering guard which is bent so clearly has done something and also have HD arms. Again personal preference but works for me.
The steering guard protects the steering damper as well as most other things in that area. I wouldn’t go without mine but that’s me.

I hit mine on Sunday and as mine is my towing point, I will keep mine on too.

Everyone is different and choose different things to bolt on there mota not isn't what someone else would choose, but this is what makes us different!!

If I wanted to be the same as everyone else I would be driving a euro car not a landrover!!!

RE: steering guards/HD arms - if I went for HD arms (I am also looking to do one or the other!), surely the force that would normally be absorbed by the arm bending will be transferred to another component somewhere, or the bushes, etc? I must admit, I was going for a sump guard - my biggest reservation is actually that they tend to catch oil leaks, so you don't notice them like you would without when a car is parked up overnight! And lets be honest, oil leaks are an issue for us LR owners... ;)

You're not going to tell me you drove up it no problem are you?

Sorry...but yeah! Range Rover went up it no problem, not sure what all the fuss was about? ;)

Stu,

Get yourself an Ordanance Survey map, theyre all listed in them. Byways is what your looking for!

If you come out of Mitchells, next left (I think) is a byway. Its got lots of triangulated white stones at the beginning which you drive through, follow it all the way to the top and it comes out by the fishing lake in WGC.

Few round Bayford and Brickendon too aswell as Welham Green/Hatfield.

Theyre all listed on the OS maps, if your really really stuck then I got some maps here if you want to borrow them for the weekend.

paul is that one still open ? i was preety sure there was big white blocks there , very very tempted to pop out n see , but after last night getting stuck in the truck all night im shatterd lol would you mind lending one for the weekend ? ill have to get round to buying some really , got a few mates from hunsdon going to that bues park or what ever it is this weekend , was gonna go but short week last week means funds are tight , got a mega itch to go play lol wish i wernt so damn tired !

Yeah its open, ive checked before and was told its open all year round....you can drive through the blocks if you get the angle right, defo wide enough as I been through there millions of times.

When I was new to laning I went through the bombhole on the right as you go up there from the 414, Gavs been through there aswell in his old L200....theres another bit up there when you come to a junction in the lane, look and you can see some kind of electricity box thing behind a metal fence. Again I went down there and theres a ****ty dirty bog bit there which I got Dan-LM stick in....this was all when I was new to laning and never realised your not allowed to go off the beaten track so wouldnt advise it personally....;)

Go for a drive if you want, theres no way you should get stuck on Holywell Hyde Lane as its quite flat, just a good shortcut home from work for you lol

Yeah borrow my maps if you want to, theyre all marked out as to where the lanes are anyway so you should be able to get out this weekend. Come up and grab them if you want, im about most of this week/weekend.

Since the truckcab swap i'll quite happily put my 90 most places. That attitude needs to change. Need to get spydermans parabollix off for him and then its leaf springs all the way!! I reckon the lil 80 must weigh less than half most challenge motors and fancy giving it some at a comp show up some of these pretend motors you see about at local comps. what do ya reckon Brett leaf springs to get the most punches at an event?
