Alternatively a car trailer will cost you £45 per day from leighton buzzard trailer rental. Good blokes and they might even agree to a half day rental if you need one.

Where are ya Rob? I can drive any motor so as long as you book it in for the mot I'll drive it there and back for you.

Cheers Ryder, I'm in St Albans, cars currently parked up at my nans which is 5 mins from mine :)
I'm Still not decided what I'm going to do with it yet, It may just be much less hassle to tow it beind the disco afterall to nearest MOT garage

any veh on the rd, must be insured, doesnt have to be taxed if - tax exempt or sorn and en route to mot. if sorn it must not be stored on the rd. can be driven without mot if booked in at the closes available mot testing station for an mot test.

Who are you?
Not seen you on here!

hey Ryder is online,
I just got 2 maps of teignmouth and torquay so will be marking them up asap. Also today while attempting to fish from the beach a boat came floating past so we salvaged it to the beach claimed it as ours and now i gotta get the bloody thing home. Jai

when i say it came floating past it wasnt moored anywhere so shot out of the river mouth so i got my neice to go grab it. Nobody wanted it and the owners told us to keep it as we kept it from going to sea. Jai

As many of you already know I operate a tracking system. Decided this week that it was time to get to grips with the electronics side of things. ( I usually sub that out but what with things being a bit tight n all!)

So to learn the secrets of the last black art... electrickery. Had a quick read of eletronics for dummies. Teaches you exactly how much you don't know yet! Bought a few components and started wiring.

All I wanted was a control box to act as an interface between the car and the tracking unit. And possibly and LED to let me know the unit is running. Not rocket science I hear all you eletro whizz kids sayinig but it bloody well was to me!

Two days later... couple of headaches - a lengthy consultation with Mr Ohm and his laws, (Damn bloke just won't take no for an answer. I want to plug it in and have it work not mess about with resistors and capacitors, fuses, relay output pairs n so on).

Well the upshot is that it works! Saves me about £100 quid per installation and makes fitting it much easier... result.

And Kai's learnt to solder and how to read a simple wiring diagram... so with any luck I'll have slave labour to do it for me next time!

So what has all this given me? I can switch the fog lights on by text message or from the computer at home... isn't THAT going to be useful ;) LOL

(I can turn the engine off the same way but don't tell plod) ;)

it will fit on my roofrack if i shoot down a week saturday then ill strap it to my roofrack its not exactly top notch it needs work but will make a good tender thingy electronics just shout im a bit rusty but I studied it for 3 years Jai Jai

OK some piccys to go with earlier posts.

Kai was like a rat up a drainpipe when Phil came over to do his handbrake. Straight in and unbolt it all!

And remove the offending article

Then bolt it all together while Phil (With nothing else to get on with) sets to doing his damper lowering maneover.

pict0058.jpg

And with a little more help from the boy wonder the bolts turn (for turn read sheer off or bend completely)

Then on to the electrics... this is how you do it dad!

And this goes there!

And finally the view from the component's perspective!

Just thought you might enjoy one or two of these.

Cheers all!
