I don't think I can but I may go up there Sat Morning I have to take the trailer to the flying field so could do some laning with the sankey Jai

Spoke to Beds & Herts Councils today and went for a little drive on the way home.
Ashwell lane is still shut at one end, but it looks open from the other, should be totally open in May, there is a small JCB at the closed end, looks like they've been power plowing it to get rid of the ruts.
Found another byway in Hinxworth that I've never done before, but only had the car so didn't drive it.
The lane to the north of Ashwell that was TRO'd because someone fell off of a horse, has been repaired and will open on or before 5th May.
Beds council didn't return my call re 40ft, I'll harras him tomorrow.
Herts bloke is really helpfull though.

Not a bad recce for an hours blast around after work, 20 valve turbo is a bit quicker than a Series III:D

Hi all. When and where do you guys meet up? I'd like to tag along in my series 3 swb. Im new to this sight, but have a fair bit of off road experience. Carpy I know you! Im looking forward to seeing your landy in the next couple of weeks.

Would be good to get another Series III on board.

That Herts guy I found really really helpful I couldn't get him off my phone he kept checking lanes close to ones I wanted to know about Seems there is a good guy umungst the Row People Jai

I haven't a scooby, jai or kev is your man.

Leckys no problem. You mount the lights and we can wire them up. Depends exactly how you want them to operate but its no problem Jai

this harlington lane seems a pretty good option. might have to sneak a look with you guys one day.

depends what local is - whereabouts are you jai? most of you seem to be luton way - havent met any other bucks member - other than jet

Harlington is a very nice lane but can be quite dodgy if on your own. Somtimes its a nice gentle drive other times well it sneaks up on you and you are in a world of poo! I have done it a fair few times on my own, once in the dark to retrieve my wheel spat after that decided to part company one evening. But be warned I have before now had to winch vehicles through as the bad bit was that little too vad ad turning around would have caused more damage to the lane than winching tghrough. Spyderman knows he only just made the corner with his old 750's on. Jai

Thanks Jai, just want them to operate with Full beam if it's not too much troubles, if it's more hassle than it's worth i'll leave it:)

Jai, I'd imagine it'd be pretty overgrown at the moment, unless the farmer has driven his tractor up and down it again, causing those massive ruts.
I remember you not being able to get around the corner without falling in the ditch. One of the rare occasions when Ryder towed you, mind you, he was on concrete.:D

True I had the disadvantage of a locked solid rear axle the Landy didn't want to go around corners on the tarmac let alone when there is little traction. Yea Was glad Ryder was there cos you couldn't tow me forwards cos you were struggling for grip too.

Oh you just had to mention that didn't you! Nothing wrong with a bit of concrete when traction is required!

Got home from kev's this evening and the damn motor packed up and is refusing to turn over. Suspect the ignition isolator or the main fuse. Ignition isolator will be a bitch to sort out (remembers a certain frontera). Ah well looks like tomorrow's mission is set out for me then!
