Hertfordshire Lanes?????

Are we are expecting too much from our greenlane trips? It seems we want them to be pleasant to drive scenic, but as hard to do as Whaddon/Devils pit. It used to be the case that these were all over but the CC's are TRO'ing them or resurfacing them. I'm not suggesting that we give up or stop driving them for a second as we all enjoy ourselves and it is our legal right to pass and re pass the unsurfaced highway. Mabe we could try and do some play days and green lanes to and from different locations. Sibbertoft is a good site. Billing aquadrome was willing to hire its land out or mabe Brickhill or Whadon. I would love hire brickhill out for a Saturday for us all to play as its a wonderful site full of every thing you could imagine including sand! Jai

Im up for it depending i can get hold of some jate rings in time!

Sorry mate remind me why you need jate rings............(what motor etc)

Hey Kris, looks like we might be down your way soon buddy. How dya fancy sorting something out for the weekend after next?
Hi mate, just let me know when you want to come down and i'll get something sorted out. Had a look at some new lanes the other day that had some good areas and i have been over to some lanes that Surrey Dan know that are as good a challange as Ashwell, they also have a bit of an escape route for when you've had enough with being stuck.

I enjoy a pleasant drive in the countryside, but I do like the odd tricky bit too.
Billing off-road is fun, I've never done Brickhill. I like Green Lanes because of the unexpected and the fact that you're going somewhere.
There's the one a Stevenage next to the A1 that I bottled out on because I had mikes a baby with me. Wouldn't mind giving that a go. The Fords are going to be good, with all of the recent rain. I'm sure we can still have a good time. I've been trying to find out the status on the Shwell lane that was TRO'd because someone fell off of their horse, but can't find the info.

Had a missed call from Rangie boy Luke earlier this evening. I phoned him back about an hour ago he just got in from Whaddon. He wanted a winch out apparently some of the other people there were not being so helpful it took a winch challenge mota to get him out but they managed to destroy his mota. he was stuck for an hour or so in a mahussive hole apparently. Jai

thought youd appreciate some more pics of me stuck on road tyres at whaddon today, here here and here......

DB, I saw that one, it's the one next to the posh house in the north of Ashwell, that has a serious axle twister to start, and a T junction, left to oblivion, right to safety. Rangie boys & Jai tried the left route, but no chance. it was pre mod days for me , so I didn't even try. I think it was TRO'd till 1st Nov

The 1 we drove earlier in the year when I had my 90 and Ryder got stuck for 2 days is the 1 I went past today and it is definately closed mate with a new gate.

Hey disco basher i need the jate rings on my 90 as iv never been out with you guys before i have been advised to get some!

Ah right. If youve got no recovery points then get some before you come out mate. They are a doddle to fit and there are plenty of us that will help you out or point you in the right direction.
If youve got a tow hitch on the rear then thats fine but you will need sturdy recovery points up front.
If you have a standard bumper then you could go for the boly on loops that fit on the top where your bumper bolts are.
