Ok cool no worries, It'll be before then I would think need to be back in Dunstable from Tring by 10.30. I got my MOT booked for next Friday, Ifigured that if I didn't set a date I would never get around to it lol so D-day is 8 days 10 hours 45mins. Jai

Welcome Spurs,

There are a couple of members on ere down your way and a monthly meet every first Wednesday of the month. In a Public house near St Albans/Wheathampsted just for a shandy or two and organising trips outing etc. Anything you need want to know ect don't be afraid to ask Jai

Saturday is the day when it all starts coming apart again. Plan is to strip all of the ancillaries and Front Panel off, so next Tue/Wed the Engine can be pulled, fixed and put back in, then just put things back together again. There's no working out of things or mods to be done, so hopefully a quick and painless job this time. Let's hope it stays dry.
Can't have you lot out laning again without me. Who'd rescue you?

Hey spurs, welcome. We'll all be out and about again v soon, and I know some of the guys are out and about even sooner, I am sure you'd be welcome to hook up!

WEL WELL WHOEVER SAID THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BARGAIN RR CLASSIC EH?

well they were right!

the cnut that i bought car off did a nice job of making the sill look solid enough alright, took it for an mot today, its got about 6wks ticket on it but thought id just check before i buy any off road toys etc.
needs the offside sill doing, most brake pipes as one split on the ramps and ****ed brake fluid on the exhaust, luckily not hot so no flames.....

couple of odds n sods, so all in pretty ****, will see how much to get all the work done see if its worth it as it runs more or less fine on petrol (lpg a job for another day)
if its mega bucks i'll get the brakes done so i can drive it, and smash it up at a pay and play like those guys last week! nah will probably do the work and start burning money...(or scrap it and get a better one)

any suggestions of where to get work done fairly cheap as im pretty crap and have no time with work n kids etc.

cheers :D:D:D:Db

Sills not a clue don't go to t & H they decided to fill them with fibreglass resin,

Brakes if they are only pipes should be a easy fix see which flexi hoses you need and order them from Paddock spares. Copper pipe is easy to make up too if you need to. Jai

my disco is going in to the garage that i got it from tomorrow as its ****ing oil from somewhere dripping onto the steering damper and anti roll, loving land rover ownership......

will wait and see what the garage will charge to get he car going again, if its too much i will get it back on the drive and start begging you chaps for advice and assistance if you can spare any,

good luck with the MOT and house purchase by the way jai, and thanks kev for the offer of assistance in getting her running ok, now have the ball ache of getting the MOT fail stuff sorted
cheers

disco52, Welcome to Land Rover ownership. We've all been there and some of us are still there. Don't give up, they're only nuts and bolts. All part of the fun.

yep still smiling, despite the amazingly short amount of time ive had em both theyve both caused me grief...... but its part of the appeal! and the RRC is a fine looking machine

not a stranger to "classic" car ownership, got a split screen vw campervan in the garage, just didnt think the disco would cause trouble so soon, hey ho
watch this space
