I was there a couple of years ago taking part in a weekend trial with the AWDC they used part of the trial course we had laid out the weekend after for the 4x4 festival. Really cool place though, we were taking part while a rally spec peugeot 205 was caning around the road course and handbrake turns on the straight. It was a gd weekend. Jai

Changed the oil + filter on my car runs fine pressure ok till it warms up then plays up again?

Still got an invite out tonight so couldn't say not so meet up with two other frontys and went and did Furnux Pelham

Been wanting to do it for a while so couldnt say no. getting quite deep after the rain we have had but nothing major. Come over the bonnet for most of it but still a good night out saw glenn321 as well but didnt invite him as didnt think he would get down it! (in his jag)

Jai... I have some of your tools here.... can collect at your leisure... haven't forgotten. Got the wheel bearing/assy back on... just the starter to do but DB has some shocks that he is (hopefully) going to help me with next week.

Starting to get withdrawal symptoms.... breaking out in a sweat... short of breath... having sporadic dreams about recovery equipment.... do I need treatment?

Hi Chris all the main lanes near me stay open, they just get even better during the winter.

cheers for the advice kev, got it running really well on petrol just over 500 with the stepper in, just lumpy on lpg to the point of cutting out at low revs, its fine on a run though, so until i can afford to sort it will maybe just use gas for the motorway? the exhaust downpipes are blowing, well at least one is, so that could be mucking the lpg up, have bought a manual today so will see whats involved in changing the exhaust, any good places for parts that youd recommend,
leonberger, yep im in potters bar and deffo up for some mid week lanes if you are about

i brought a exhust from mm4x4 which was pretty cheapish and i know why had to heat up and adjust it to fit so becareful when doing it i had to get help from my local garage as i didnt have the tools and ramp just some axel stands and chris you need to get spell check on when drunk " why is it... when i drink me fingers et ****** an hiot more of the wrng keys " lol

Idle at just over 500 is a bit low, sounds like stepper isn't doing its thing or ECU is playing up. Normal idle speed should be about 700rpm +/- 25 rpm I think. I can't remember if I've got an old (working) stepper, will have to take a look.

I would go with a complete re-set of the basic parameters. Check the ignition timing, set base idle, check/clean and gap the plugs, clean/replace air filter check the various resistances and voltages on the engine sensors. All of that said, if the thing is running then fundamentally it would seem everything is working. If you're over my way give me a shout, we can hook up my spare ECU to it and see what happens.
