Not sure what tornado do but minimum spec CDS cages do bend CCVing bouncing off trees they are light but have been known to break. I know one AWDC guy built a comp safari motor first comp rolled and the it was scrap. he was selling me the running gear as it needed completly re caging. Seen a couple bend aswell.

Just rememberd was anyone out the back of Haynes Sunday morning when the a6 was closed? I was walking down then road when two monster trucks rumbled passed one had a serious lift on it

Stu, Thats what I'm saying even one that meets specs 2.5mm wall thickness can bend because cds has a higher yield strength they drop the wall thickness down which is nice and light for comp but giving it stick off trees can bend. I've see 2 people been told to go home and Tag removed from cage. New cage and you can play again. Alot of people are starting to go with thicker than minimum spec wall thickness keeping cds as it can be bent nice and tight just for the peace of mind and durability fit once last 10 years+ Older type blue band/red band steam barell to BS1387 has a much thicker wall at 3.2mm tough as bouncing off trees all day every day but has a weight penalty and cannot be bent as tight as it crushes. There is alot of snobbery around cages and materials both have good and bad points.

Just thought I'd mention as its not talked about much, its worth noting when looking into cages there is alot of snobbery that CDS is so much better but it has its bad points also that need to be explained before you purchase

Need to crack on with the 80 :-(

If I can put the steering column in once and for all the front wing can go on drivers side once and for all which will make me happy :) !

90 needs a Propshaft UJ its making itself known chirping in lowrange. might do that aswell get it ready for all this SNOW...........................haha what snow.

Its the rear propshaft Lol but I do need to take it out at some point. What I don't want is to have it in bits and then the snow comes so until I get a good diff to put in with my ashcroft shafts i'm not touching it.

its much dryer now. Was gloopy that sunday. Good to use winch. See you there sunday.
Do you think it'll be drier, there's been a lot of rain. I think pretty similar, obviously if I don't make it through it was much wetter, if I do it was much drier:D

Best for both of us to have a go really
